Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?
Sat 12+13 March QT/Wanaka (we may look at Wanaka this year), would be the perfect dates to fly in. SITT numbers confirmed with Playdays and deposits paid by all but a couple of RSGers currently travelling offshore... We have 17 on the tour with a couple of ring ins for Highlands. Its going to be a great trip. Next up is accommodation. At this time looks like there will be no need for high levels support - its seems most machinery being taken is fairly modern.
Not sure who here is intending to participate in the October Targa NZ Tour (6 day event)?
Looks like tour entry early bird is $5200. I remember when the tour was approximately 50% of the main event. Now its only a 16% discount! I'm priced out of the market on this. Comparative to NITT, SITT or a long weekend away doing 3 x 1-2 hour fast back road stints, this isn't representing the value it used too :-(

Today I added go faster splitters, cleaned the smile rubber of polish, painted the central grill at the top of the bonnet and replaced the silver screws on the cup door cards with black ones. Then got the tar off 2 of the 4 RS60 wheels - painful. Planning on a drive in the morning meeting at BP Drury for coffee at a les surely 8am if anyone else wants to come along.
Just paid my SITT deposit before you give my spot to someone else............Pete was winding me up for being a late payer...........
Doug - car is looking really good. Be interesting to see if you get better turn in with splitters?

Macca - you know my thoughts on Targa costs - I too am priced out at $5K entry fee. This is a $15K week by the time you pay for a service, gas accomodation, a new set of tyres, pads and disks.
That is an annual RSG budget including SITT, NITT and a few weekends (and you get to go over 160kph!!).
I don't see the value here?
Entry needs to be closer to $2K................(IMHO)

Thanks Walter. I'm pretty proud of the old girl. Everything working nicely including air con and had Steve and Dan replace the right hand squeaky heater fan recently so now she's a happy place to drive in quiet cockpit.
Now, give us the run down on the GT3 from today. Didn't get enough time to talk after - so what's the plan forming after driving it in anger for the first time?!
I really like the car. Love the sound and the horsepower. I should have skipped the 993 and gone to a GT3........
Much faster and turns in so easy.
For an RSG person a GT3 or Cayman R is really the ideal car........
I agree with Macca again, if you have the money, a modern GT3 is a 1 car does all solution. The 997's/991's are a little more road friendly, but I don't find my car too uncompromising on the road.
