So I put together a list of the driver training and all of the track days I've since attended with the argument that I was suitably experienced not to require this condition.

This was accepted by Prestigio. I thought others who may be in a similar situation with experience might like to know this.
Nice to know Doug, I tried to get by on this but didn't go as far as a written list submitted and they rejected but I will now follow your advice

John, I'm pretty sure it is the wrong type. The original one fits to the car in a very german engineered way. The one you bought looks like the Australian manufactured version fitted to later models. Hope I'm wrong.

You of all people don't need driver training to be a safe insuree (is insuree a word?)

I was pretty sure some sins were hiding under the front bumper. The right hand end was down a bit and the smile was a bit ropey. Looks like the right hand bumper shock was leaning down taking the bumper with it. Easy adjustment to sort. The last body shop to get their hands on it had filled any visible gaps with silicone sealant. Rough buggers. Good news is that no fasteners were rusted and it came apart easily. Looks nice and straight and rust free at the front end.

The smile never sat well and was misshapen a bit so a new one is in order. Might as well get a few new rubber seals as well while it is all apart. I shouldn't have started aye?

I didn't realise but the smile is full of steel and this had rusted out over 33 years causing it to swell up in places. You can see where they glued it down to the top of the bumper to keep it in shape.

The rubber smile for the Turbo 3.6 was ~ $200. How much is this going to set you back?

Macca sold me a similar strip for the 964. Good grief I have a lot of "someday useful" parts.

Been there done that with the grille on the ducktail. T bolts added to the cost. I feel for you. Hopefully it will repay you when it comes to sale time.

Getting better all the time Dave. I fitted a rubber smile seal to Mr Black just last weekend. Looks so much better but trying to get it to fit into the tabs on either side of the bumper was a complete pita. It doesn't look like your has that arrangement hence the bodge with the glue. How does it fix to the bumper?
