The red rear and clear front and side lenses have transformed the look significantly. I saw one like this in the states once and couldn't put my finger on why it looked so much better than other red IB cars until I realised it was simply the lenses.
No chance. It was fun pulling the front end of the SC apart but now I'm a bit tired on that idea and wish I hadn't. Not so much that I'm not enjoying it but the little things you find that you just can't justify re assembling it back together with the old parts. Therein lies the problem. It seems to be all or nothing and I don't think NZ is ready for the $50k SC yet but that's what it could run to if you include all new body seals and full paint. This car could be that but then it takes it beyond what it has been so good at for me at least - just get in and drive.

Where this passion picked up steam. Our first NZ tour in my 2002 Boxster 2.7. 5,000km road trip around the South Island with Jan and the hood down most of the way. Looking forward to an early run tomorrow from Oakura yo Russell return in the RS60. Good times.
Keep it right side up Doug. Playday for Neil and I, in the Normal Group tomorrow morning.
Thanks for the lend of the tow bar connection. Who would have thought tow bar connections would be so difficult?

Dave, the SC is looking better and better. Bring it down to Caffeine & Classics tomorrow morning? I tried to buy the 1981 SC listed today, but was gone by the time I heard back from the seller.
Doug, great to see that the enthusiasm hasn't diminished since first taking a Boxster for a run. Long may it continue.

Hey Watt. I have an allocation and have been watching and anticipating the spec that is now coming to light. It's too compromised for my use. The GT3 is the perfect proven vehicle for everything from DD,continental touring, to fast Tarmac dawn raids on NZ northland B roads and track abuse. The RS is going to be quite compromised but a brilliant track weapon. The GT4 will fit between them quite well I suspect...
