These are far rarer than a GT3, only 250 made - far cooler in my opinion too with the duck, custom bumpers and humps in the roof. I love the colour and subtle pin strips too.
If I was a zillionaire, I'd own one...............
Mind you they have collapsed in value compared to GT3 4.0 - this seems to be only limited run 997 holding it's value...............
I think they where over $400K new, so quite a hit for the guy who only did 500kms.

for that money might be close to getting a gt2 rs out of uk!
looked up the spec on the gearbox- supposed to be able to change in 50 milliseconds. Think I will set up no faster than 150 millisecs. lwfw to be installed with it.
for comparison nissan gtr double clutch is spec at 200 millisec.

Hi Watt. I think you can probably assume Continentals sell their product around 5-10% below advertised price after haggling.
As you will have determined new Porsche & Fezza are very expensive in NZ. You can import from UK much cheaper even with the 15% GST added in so I wouldn't be concerned about the GST element. This way you dont have to own a car for 12 months in the country of origin before importing it. There is alot of this happening right now as the NZD is very strong against the GBP.
The Toy Shop 991S is a nice car and well priced too. Good spec to boot. Toy Shop (Max Fletcher) is well known long term player here so you dont need to be overly concerned dealing with them, but make sure you negotiate as always.
Although cars in general are much more expensive new than in the US, lHD cars suffer terribly n terms of depreciation and I think you would be far better off taking the depreciation hit in the USA, sell there and buy in NZ. Used cars 5-10 years old represent fair value in NZ and you can find Porsche models that are rare in the US as they were never launched there (think 993RS, 964RS, 996.1 GT3 etc) for sale in NZ at very reasonable prices compared to global alternatives.
Let us know when you are heading over as no doubt there will be an opportunity for you to meet plenty of the folk on this board...

There are however third parties that operate in the UK that buy new 911s from dealers then export as third party transactions allowing you access to VAT reduction but they do charge a margin for the activity/service. It still works out far cheaper than buying new in NZ. FYI only but Ive looked into this late last year in detail and these were my findings.

Watt. You almost certainly want to go shopping in the UK and import a car. They have many stradale, good value and not "emasculated".
There are only perhaps 6 x 993RS in NZ, 5 x 964RS and no 993GT2. You could wait a long time to find one for sale and only if you know where to look.
Again UK and Europe provide a great source for these cars (LHD & RHD).

I just looked at it. Ex-Singapore. Full cage, original leather comfort Recaro buckets. Zero history.

I know the car as I looked at it in 2005 (when it was being sold in Singapore). It was rough then having been tracked within an inch of its life since new. Jon Pottinger bought the car for an offshore NZ resident that wanted to do racing in NZ. Jamie also knows the story. It spent its whole like being run hard and I personally believe the real mileage on that engine is much higher than is claimed. I know the car has had a number of incidences the last of which may have necessitated the 2002 front clip. This is possible the worst 996.1 GT3 you could buy in NZ IMHO and at 70k its overpriced!

BTW. The silver ex Japan tiptronic 964 C2 on Trademe was offered at a fixed price of $23,000 and sold. Not to me, although I liked the fact it was a non sunroof model. As for my car, the Fuchs should be on their way in a couple of days. The invoice was # 66 so they don't seem to be going like hot cakes. Had to suck it up paying the invoice but I hope that they will hold their value.....self justification.
