Ooh Man - very jealous of you guys - scenery looks awesome.........
Macca - please see below - will be interesting to see how this pans out on a 993 (we need to keep JMc and Dougie firmly 3 sec behind us.....)
Hi Paul
We have access to a customer’s car (a 993 NVH) locally who is going to be the first to fit our system. Once work is completed and mapped we will start selling this kit too - please check back in 6-8 weeks!

Sunday 11th Drive
If the Sunday drive is still happening, count me in!
Lots of options to meet up - Bombay BP, the ole Flying Ramarama Ranch (before or after), or even Tuakau.
Weather looks awesome!

Chris. Numbers are pretty maxed out for Sunday but we will squeeze you in. Ron is leading us down. I'll email you details.
Paul. Given you already have the chip and a cat less exhaust system from factory as well as a MAF set up as stock can't see where the gains could be. If Hitech and Torque Performance could get only 308 out of mine on Link G4, 97.5 Ron and 20 hours combined road and dyno tuning ( which incidentally we ended up knocking back by 16 bhp due to drive ability options) I'm curious as to what their headline numbers are and what dyno and corrections, AFR etc they use...

John - you need to do a before and after dyno to see what the gains are.
You deffinately need to do a dyno after to see whether the car is running lean?

Great photo spot Macca. Elliot's is one of my favourite NZ beaches.
Who/where do people go for 4WD friendly Dyno testing pre and post tune? I've been considering a tune for a while (although prob don't need it...) but would want to do it properly.

996 Turbo for sale on TM
Someone here needs to buy this and bring it to HD Sprints etc, especially if Chris B follows through on semi-retiring his one:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used...-827465981.htm
Since the listing is only titled as a "Porsche 911 996 2002" rather than as being a Turbo, it may go quite cheaply if it sells.
Macca, Doug - nice pics and good to see you maxing out the good weather while I'm back at work!

I went to Carl Ruiterman's place in Pukekohe (E&H) for a pre-tune dyno as he had a dynapack AWD dyno but we didn't do a power run in the end. The dynapack units aren't mechanically or otherwise roadspeed coupled front to rear (as evidenced by different axle speeds at the start of the low rev calibration run). The 996 Turbo has a viscous coupling which can overheat and blow in the unnatural situation of an uncoupled dyno run. I called Dynapack in Wellington but the person I spoke to (John I think it was) refused to confirm its suitability for a 996T Tip and didn't like to the idea of underwriting a power run backed by their development budget. So I just paid Carl for the dyno session and called it off. Typically it's got around by disconnecting the driveshaft to the front diff and doing a RWD run but we didn't have the details or time for that. Your 997 has a different front diff (electrically operated clutch packs that handle more torque) though so you might well be fine. Maybe check the 997 forums first to confirm?
Alternatively, the best real world dyno is probably a 60mph-130mph (roughly a 100 kph-200 kph), or better yet a 0-300 kph if you have access to a long enough closed runway. The common 0-100 kph is just too dependent on tyres, road surface and launch technique to give a good idea of your power level.

Also worth bearing in mind that a tune will require an LVV certification if you want to adhere to the letter of the law, so additional cost and potentially insurance and resale hassles involved there.
