The Z06 will destroy the GT4. With 745hp, and a turbo flat plane v8 the Z06 will likely eat the GT3RS. The ZR1 will be even more insane.

Maybe. But it will cost about the same as a 911 Turbo/GT3.

It will be 100k. The C7 ZR1 was 120k. Even if they bump the price 20k at 120k that’s nowhere near GT3 or turbo pricing. In fact 120k is a nicely loaded GT4 which makes the GT4 way to underpowered. Hopefully it will wake up Porsche to stop short changing the Cayman.

Oh they are going to reduce the price from the C7? Come on! Prices are going Up my friend. Don’t be fooled by the starting price!

You probably should go and spec one - you're really looking at 145k. If you think a car is all about power you are missing the point - its about how they use the power. This is something Porsche get right bar none.

The proof of the pudding (car) is in the eating (driving) . Nissan GT-R looked like Superman on paper but felt like a pig when I drove it. If I love it when I drive it, I'll buy it. If I don't love it, I won't, regardless of how much of a bargain others tell me it is or how good it looks on paper. The Boxster looks like nothing on paper, but may be THE BEST car for my backroads, regardless of price -- and I'm being completely serious here.

I have a GT4 and GT3 among other cars. I’ve never owned a corvette in my life. The GT4 flat out sucks. The new one is worse than before because it weighs more and it still has $hitty gearing. Don’t get butt hurt that GM did something great.

Please tell me me where I could find a NEW GT3 or Turbo for 130?!

This place is getting worse than FerrariChat.

Its the stealership game, you mean theres no chance for a 911 buyer to ever win? That must suck, like Pavlov's hungry dog kinda suck!
I assume they mean $59,995. The base C7 is $56,995 and you can buy some today with that # on the window. Thats even before the ubiquitous negotiations in our favor we Americans have come to expect, notwithstanding factory incentives. I even saw one and the only option was $195 wheel locks. I might expect a bit of gamesmanship from dealers soon after delivery on their DSO floor models but that won't last very long. The notion of anyone going into their Chevy dealer and NOT being able to buy one for MSRP +ttl etc is ludicrous. Especially when I can be at a about a dozen different dealers with an hours drive.

I doubt you would accept simplicity unless it was gilded anyway. Is it comedy that's exhausting or comity? I'll try.
Heaven forbid any of us be forced to relinquish anything, butt...
Company folds before options mature and you need $400K of chemo but still want to get to the doctor in a flashy but still new car.
You do the cost of ownership calculations over 5-10 years and 100K miles then realize that the amount of real dollars spent per mile minus tax destructibility could be zero as opposed to $150K. So screw the depreciation.
or You just need a cheap car to drive when it rains.
It comes with a built in lap timer.
Its sooo cheap you won't need track insurance
You want to meat a slightly trashier bleached blonde babe or a way smarter brunette or an even funner redhead.
or You wonder if you are really satisfying your current one so you give her the "Honey I just lost 80% of my net worth" test.
Merkel insults Mr T who in turn declares war then the ProudBois start awarding bounties for destroying everything foreign.
Maybe you just want to have the latest iteration of Americas Sports Car...and a more than enviable airplane.
WHO KNOWS!

Look, nothing is simple when money or emotions are concerned. If they are for you then great, buy a C8 next year and document all the problems and shortcomings on your youtube channel and maybe someone will value you opinion more next time. Because its an entirely new car.
Most of us get it. Haters gonna hate but ignorant hatefulness or even rational tribalism for the unappreciative tribes' sakes is becoming laughable and sadly di rigueur.

I remember driving one back in 2007 and being blown away by the acceleration. To my recollection it was the first semi 'affordable' car (along with the C6 ZR1) that competed with supercars of that time in terms of performance numbers. Then Nissan made time stand still and everything else passed it by. It was impressive for its time though.

This is a buddy with 1000hp + one with adjustable boost at one of our track days at COTA showing everyone the proper line through the esses.

its going to be a great car, its just going to be a corvette. special if you have one but will see thousands everywhere in months after they start plowing them into every dealer.

And I never understood why everyone is only talking about and comparing NEW cars. Why restrict your choices when optimizing bang/buck to such a narrow universe?

Would I pick a NEW C8 over a used 996 GT3 for even $? Not so sure. Not even sure that a new DCT 3600lb 500hp C8 would be faster than a 15yr old manual 3100lb 380hp 6gt3 in good hands on any track either. Not even getting into how much more fun driving one would be over the other. Or depreciation...

I'd take the C8 in a heartbeat for the simple reason that I don't feel lucky enough to drive a 15 year old GT3 for a couple years without incurring some very expensive maintenance outlay. If I had the time and inclination to do my own maintenance, and the ability to get Porsche parts at wholesale, I'd consider a 15 year old GT3. Otherwise I'd enjoy the C8, knowing that the only other expense I'd have for three years is routine maintenance which costs about a third of Porsche maintenance, and if something does break on the C8, I'd have the warranty.

Chevy is just laughing at all the dust they can stir up on a Porsche forum. All this passion for a new car that has never even been tested and using all the manufactures (Chevy) numbers. Dance my puppets dance.

I can answer that, it would period, no questions asked. Faster than a 997 GT3 and possibly even a 991 GT3.
