From my quick research in the order guide for the 997.1 GT3, it appears standard was Halogen, then optional was xenon. Almost all 997.1 GT3's came with xenons though 889/963 in North America. Whereas on the 997.2 GT3, it seems that xenon was standard and then the lightweight halogen was optional. For the xenon option, it specifies headlamp cleaning system. After looking some more, Spyerx mentioned his car has halogen headlamps and he has a 997.1RS. This pic below shows that his car does not have headlamp washers. So it seems that halogen headlamps mean no washers. Xenon headlamps means headlight washers. Since that car I posted has halogens, it makes sense that it doesn't have the washers. Learned something new.

Also, DME is ok, but not exactly clean. Range 1 and 2.

this car was listed in the rennlist classifieds and on cars.com for several months. It’s one of the highest MSRPs of any 997.2 GT3. One of only 43 GT Silver GT3 built for North America. I actually wanted to buy it, but ultimately it had a few question marks that left me unwilling to pull the trigger. I suspect others felt same way, since for the asking price this should be a no brainer if the car was right and tight.
Also, DME is ok, but not exactly clean. Range 1 and 2.

This may be one of the 997 GT3's that does well on BAT, given that it should sell somewhere in the $60-70k range which means someone can get into a 997 GT3 that may normally be shopping other cars.

Regarding the DME, I said it wasn't clean, which to me means no ignition counts in any range. I didn't say the DME was bad or anything to be concerned about, simply that it has ignitions in ranges 1 and 2. As I'm sure everyone on this forum knows, you don't register a range 1 on a GT3 by simply banging against the rev limiter. You have to exceed redline by 600RPM for range 1. Anyway, not here to debate DME reports, just clarifying what I stated previously.

I think we nailed it. On the 997.1 standard was Halogen, optional was Bixenon. On the 997.2, standard was Bixenon, no cost option was halogen "lightweight" and cost option was Dynamic cornering lights (option 603). On both generations, the halogens had no headlight washers.

What Porsche referred to as the "lightweight" lights had a halogen projector low beam element and halogen high beams, with no range control or headlight washers (See pic below). Then you had the BiXenons (optional on 997.1, standard on 997.2) which looked the same as the halogens but the light elements were xenon for both high and low beam and they had auto height control, and finally, you could get the up-price option dynamic cornering lights, which had dual xenons, height control, and swiveled up to 15 degrees outward based on steering input.
