What happens when you don't drive your antique for 6mo
Last time I drove the car was in Sept. I did a long (the last?) Mooty weekend at thunder hill. What a fantastic track!
Well, while there, my power steering pressure line was seeping a little at the pump. So it was time to replace the line.
Trailered car home after the weekend and dropped at BBI. They were done with it in a few weeks, but I asked them to store the car for me.
We were mid-rebuild of our house and I didn't have any place to keep the car, so they kept in their showroom.
Life is super busy right now with a lot of business travel, and well, i haven't been on track since Sept. Talk about withdrawals.
Anyway, Friday I brought the car home finally, and THANK YOU Betim for letting me keep the car there.
So what happens... you forget
that cold transmission with cup shifter and cables is balky as hell
it is LOUD AF
its not exactly subtle on the road, even in stealth silver
those TTX dampers awesome on track are probably a couple clicks too stiff for the street
man those recaro seats, did they get smaller?
DAMMIT. That cup lip sits LOW and was NEW and now has nice SCRAPES all over it for forgetting how to drive the car up driveways
And, once warmed up, is FKING AWESOME. I forgot how much I like this car. As raw as I've made it.

Crazy how a car can make you feel. My DD is in the shop and spent the week in the RS4. Then decide to take the Gt3 to work yesterday and it was a blast.

I've only done private track days. I'm too much of a wimp to get out there with people I don't know. And the sponsor of the track day collected payment a week before with no exceptions. I'm in for the next one JBO

private days are a major pain, i don't blame mooty for packing up. last one i organized i partnered with Josh from speed district to help organize it. it was a fantastic day. But i couldn't have pulled it off w/o his help. Thinking... we need to do another one tail end of summer.

Set up that private day and I'll bring out my 4.0 out there.

I just want a GT3 period, 996, 997, I won't be picky. Now if only my wallet was sufficient enough. Car looks great. I don't normally care for gold wheels on a silver car but it really works here!

how'd you get it loud AF? I'd like mine louder (though the neighbors aren't very fond of it as is)
