SQS shifter

Oh wow. Similar to what S1 does for the t56 now. I never really understood the point of these as you still need to use the clutch. To me, a sequential box is only cool for that mechanical clunk while flat shifting through the gears, not just to get rid of the H pattern.

Much like the 991 people are modding and enjoying the cars just for the thrill. Let's be real, tracking aka HPDE isn't going to hurt a GT3RS any more than poor maintenance and driving habits.
I agree that it's a silly mentality to assume that the car is tired just based on the build information and I could very well be wrong, but looking at the owner that built that car, it was truly a dedicated track car. If you check out his car list, it's pretty impressive but all track cars. He states, "I asked GMG to build me a safe and solid track car and they delivered.".

The stars aligned for you on your car purchase. Well that and your, "Get it handled at all costs" mentality, proved to be a winning combination for you. Congrats on that because you killed it!

I do find it strange that SF Porsche isn't posting up any pictures. Maybe they feel like it will deter people from even chiming in about the car. We just have to wait and see.

When I called they said it was still on the way in a transport vehicle. They said it’s expected sometime this week or next. I’m sure they have to figure out emissions to sell it here in CA with those headers on it too.

Super cool to be seeing enthusiasts buy these cars and come back to the 997 forum

The 997 guys are the best… if you don’t believe me go troll the 992 GT3 section lol

Agreed! I visit the 992 gt3 forum from time to time and it can get quite vicious.

Congrats!! Cobalt is an amazing color, and that particular car looked awesome. Nothing like a long distance drive to get to know the car better. You'll hit some great roads on the way through too.

Agree with Wonderdan's comment - it's great to see that these are making their way into hands of enthusiasts.

From what I read, it's a 200 cell ODB compliant cat on equal length headers with a tune. My car runs the same setup with Brombacher parts and an Evoms tune and it passed recently.

One of my very first times being exposed to a 997.1 GT3 (and what helped sparked the dream) was camping next to a cobalt blue 7.1 at Sebring way back in 2009. Such a beautiful color! That car was in South Florida for a while, but last I heard the owner died about 10 years ago. I wonder what happened to it...
