Sorry, but man, that tower is ugly. Looks like it belongs in a civic, not our interiors...

No need to say sorry to me. I'm just doling out some facts.

Im thinking that the Porsche SF GMG .2Rs is going to be a tired car. !0 years ago it was built and tracked, and tracked and tracked. Now it's for sale at a wholesale price, from a Porsche dealership no less, is a telling sign. Dealers almost always have the highest prices and for one to be selling a car at a discount, well........

This is all speculation until they decide to post up some pictures and maybe they don't even have the car in their possession. A consigned car? 🤷🏽‍♂️

Also, what about Bodacious? I know he wants to trade his car but maybe he would sell outright. Worth a shot, unless he already stated in his thread he wouldn't.

^^ yep had a pressure plate failure on mine when I got it. Car still drove but the plate would push crooked making it hard to get into gears from a stop. Easy fix at about ~$5k.
Same with my RS at 13k miles. Used the opportunity to upgrade to RS 4.0 clutch, pin coolant pipes, pretty much new everything including Sharkwerks pipes and Dundon damper. After all the upgrades and new might as well parts, the new OEM pressure plate still has me worry about failing again lol

It's a Sequential Shifter and they are no longer made by this company.

SQS shifter

At $250, I bet it still has the sequential in it. Maybe they don't have the original transmission...

I'm not 100% sure what they did to the deck lid here... maybe they thought if they had 3 fans it could fly, is that normal for the .1?

the 997.1 RS only has a single inlet airbox. That looks like a 997.2 GT3 RS decklid (unclear if OEM) but not sure why they cut 2 more round holes in it. It should only have one fan and the two rectangular holes is what connects into the airbox. It's missing the 2 rubber couplings that seal the inlet holes to the airbox like many other 997.2 RS retrofits i've seen, because those rubber couplers are really expensive for some reason. Silly thing to do since it probably eliminates the ram air effect the factory setup provides.

Man, those wheels are horrible.

Ill be shocked to see this sell at a high number due to the limited information about it being stroked to a 3.8L, all the body mods and the wheels

According to the ad description it must be part of the advanced “zero lift” aerodynamics package. Wut?

it’s a 4.0 build by BBi, probably the best thing about that car. I think it would make a nice driver. Most of the mods are OEM, minus the wheels and hacked up decklid.

I stand corrected on the engine. I was reading the comments and the apparent sellers friend who listed this car said something about 3.8

I still think it won't fetch a ton. The bodywork will throw a lot of people off

yea I think they could have pulled it off with a little more attention to detail, change the rims etc, but it’s putting off a bit of Frankenstein imo esp with that intake and deck lid

even just a set of 19s would make it look a lite more natural

Seems a little strange to me to pay for a BBI 4.0 build just two months ago and then immediately turn around and sell the car. Curious what the story is there.

And yeah, there's no way that decklid seals against the airbox with the additional holes cut and lack of baffles

Noticing on the Carfax report that it’s had the following replaced at 6k miles:
  • Clutch slave cylinder replaced
  • Clutch pilot bearing replaced
  • Clutch release bearing replaced
  • Clutch replaced
  • Flywheel/flexplate serviced

How is this possible? Is this a red flag?
I'd go out on a limb to say mechanical failure. Early batch .2 RS clutches had issues; rivets IIRC. My GT2 had a warranty clutch replacement at 2k miles. No unusual overrevs on my car. Fairly certain also mechanical failure. Unless there are overrevs in that time frame, It would not concern me.

This is such a silly mentality. My car was built before this one and it's been flawless besides the clutch replacement. I also tracked down every owner and it was built in 2013 then used as a cars and coffee car until last year when i bought it. Remember, these weren't always just collector cars. Much like the 991 people are modding and enjoying the cars just for the thrill. Let's be real, tracking aka HPDE isn't going to hurt a GT3RS any more than poor maintenance and driving habits.
