No must have options, to me. I thought full leather was a must have on my first 997. Once I had it I realized I’d be fine without it. My GT3 just happens to have it. Some want PCCB’s, but the technology is old at this point vs how good new ceramics are. On a .2, some will really want front axle lift or buckets. Buckets weren’t exactly common in them and while I’d normally say just buy them after the fact, there’s zero chance you’d see me spending $20k for GT2 buckets. I’ve sat in them, they’re fine, but I have my complaints with how high they sit since I’m tall.
Black is not my primary color choice however this one is coming up for sale locally to me.

The most sought after options, excluding color choice, seem to be PCCBs, full leather, and FAL (.2 only). These are just icing on the cake and will once again depend on personal preference and budget. PCCBs are phenomenal, but if you’re doing a lot of tracking they may not be worth the increased replacement cost. On the street, they last a lifetime so wear is not a concern.
Look for a car with good maintenance history, clean carfax, clean body, and evidence of prior owners’ pride of ownership and in a color that you like. That will get you 98% to everything that really matters. All the other options you can live without if you’re not a collector looking for a show piece and bragging rights.

I’ve noticed this for years, but haven’t asked about it. On a 997.1 RS there was no option for Sound Package Plus or any sort of stereo upgrade. But if you got full leather it came with 2 speaker covers on each of the door panels (as you would get on a car with Sound Package Plus) instead of the standard 1. If you get one without full leather it has just 1 speaker cover. I assume there is only 1 speaker on the door panel in a full leather car and the extra speaker cover has nothing behind it?

if the mileage is still in the teens then I thinks that’s reasonable. The car looked perfect when @Wonderdan was selling it last time and it has such a great spec. RFMC sold their .2 last week and the mileage and MSRP was similar. They were asking $220k and assuming it sold for close to that given it had only been listed a few days.

that is @Wonderdan old car.
For me, 150k sounds much more attractive than 200k. Everyone has their own number in mind, but I do not worry about my .1 GT3, I would be more worried spending 200k.
Let me enjoy my .1 stress free, that's the ticket for me.

At one point in time the difference between a .1 and a .2 was in the neighborhood of $15k-$20k. At that delta, I think the difference may be worth it to me. $50k is a different ballgame--that's a full Dundon powerpack, a Tractive suspension and a RS ring and pinion, probably with some cash to spare and you'd end up with a much more exciting driving experience than either a stock .1 or .2.
Of course, as others have said "worth" is entirely subjective here and what may not be worth $50k to me may be worth $100k to someone else.
