Someone can correct me in I'm wrong, but i don't believe thickness of PCCB rotors changes much with use. I think new is 34mm and min. thickness is 33.7mm. Condition is largely based on appearance and cracking, well used rotors will be much darker, some cracking is normal, however if cracks are excessive or extend to the outer edge of the rotor then they are toast forsure.

What are the numbers this person is referencing for wear in their ad? I'm curious to know about this stuff as well as someone who's been eyeing used PCCBs but would more than likely end up with Surface Transforms if I go this route for peace of mind and relative cost.

Those are readings from a fancy device tells you a lot more that any visual inspection ever could, though I'm not sure there is a Carboteq spec for 997 PCCBs, as I don't think anything like this was in use at the time they were produced.

Here is a video describing it

Totally off topic but did you folks know that this is, I think, the second longest thread on Rennlist. Congrats to all who participate and a special thanks to Ilko for starting it. He will go down in Rennlist History.

How does this even happen? Looks almost like indentations made while the plastic was super hot …. Weird.

My guess is something fell upon it while hot. Looks like the circumference of a pipe, Definitely looks melted.

Odd indeed given the location. Those markings look similar to what my soldering iron did when I accidentally placed in on the plastic center console of my old Honda when I was wiring a new head unit.

Very strange. Could it have been splitter support rods since it's on both sides?
