12 gallons later (drain, refill with distilled water, drain, refill with coolant) changed the coolant. After being in the car for 10 years - Looked good, tasted even better (it was really hot outside) , tested below -25, did not test Ph. 10 yrs is long enough for any "lifetime" fluid.
Wow!! I’ve read that it’s “lifetime” coolant but I guess this is something that can be done (or maybe can’t be avoided) when doing a new water pump. Not sure how all the plumbing works on this car yet but definitely something I want to do.
I patched a small scrape on back of leather seat and re-glued carbon trim on cup holder. Then, I got into a mess with a broken bolt that the cup holder secures to and had to re-glue that and tighten everything up again.
Hey @dandaman19 would you share what glue you used and the process to completion?
I have the same issue on my '12 997.2 TTM - carbon face plate is separating from the cupholder chassis.
Gorilla glue. Took out the cup holder and pulled trim off. Used goo gone to get prior adhesive off and get smooth surfaces. Laid the gorilla glue down and used chip clips to hold trim to cup holder. Let it sit for a night.
I also re-glued the carbon fibre trim. It may have been poorly re-glued by previous owner, I had to scrape/sand off old glue from both pieces. I used JB Weld and clamped it, great success.
Take the whole cup holder cassette thingy out, only 2 screws. 3.5mm key, iirc. Way easier to do this out of the car.
Completed my first oil change. Very straight forward. Was surprised by the tight fit when seating the filter within the housing. The only annoyance was the hex bit getting stuck in the oil drain plug during removal and installation of the new plug. Some PB blaster and channel locks worked it free in both cases, but not something I want to repeat every year. Any tips?
Easy trick is to switch your ratchet direction, tap the handle, and it should free up
Today’s project, stripping the paddle shifters and this funky selector switch then getting the fire extinguisher mount installed. (The fire extinguisher and quick release are back ordered)
Car was creaking like a jalopy - mainly in the rear. So I replaced rear sway bar bushings and sprayed some white lithium grease all over the rear suspension. I also removed the front section of the undertray and hit the front. Went out for a test drive and it's a huge improvement - drives like a new suspension. Hope it lasts a while. Will probably shoot some grease in every time I lift the car up.
These are a Hexagrid 6500K LED light system. They are mains power (no need for drivers) and I sourced them direct from China - but are being re-sold (At HUGE mark up) at a few places.
