I sent my factory belts and reels to https://www.safetyrestore.com/ and they disassembled each replacing only the webbing in the color of my choice. Service was great, turnaround was as quick as promised, highly recommended.

Just the front for now. I’m flirting with rear seat delete anyway, didn’t make sense to swap all four

I think that SD-20 might be able to clean underbody parts like that. See PCA Tech Tactics Live detailing episode. Seems friendly to plastics - not sure about cast aluminum parts. My driver’s side cylinder bank has a greasy dirt layer (valve cover gasket weeping?) that will be my SD-20 test area later today.

Installed a pair of Cypher Vehicle Design interior door handles. The quality of these things is just incredible.

I cursed at it.
Beautifully sunny day here in Seattle, sat in drivers seat to go for drive and listened to my battery go click click click. Had tender on it but think my battery is toast but seeing if it will hold a charge.

Oh wow, these look great! Been wanting something like this for a long time and was wondering why someone wasn't making metal parts for our interiors.

However, $738 for the 2 handles! 😱 How is the quality/feel?

I managed to catch a deal on them and get the pair for only about 30% more than a pair of replacement plastic ones.

The quality/feel of them is incredible. I feel much better investing slightly bigger $$ in a well-built set of metal handles than I did conceivably investing still big $$ in the crappy plastic painted Porsche ones that were just going to chip again at some point. Now I really want one of Cypher's shift *****, but I'm going to have to hold a bake sale or something to finance it

Full DIY alert.

Finally installed H&R lowering springs on my .2 C2S Chrono.
Fronts are easier than the rears, but completely feasible as a satisfying project, Dan Tsuchiya has put up e reassuringly well made Youtube video, thanks for your efforts Dan.
Changed out the rear spring "sponge" seats too, mine were sacked out, cheap and available NVH recovery right there! All bump stops and strut mounts were in very good condition,
Added Skompski front tie rods for bump steer compensation due to lowering.
Topped off with hillbilly stringline alignment (thanks again YouTube) using only available items from the garage, Good enough to run a few hundred miles to bed new springs in before forking out gold bars for a pro alignment. and yes, the front tie rod adjustment is possible just by reaching under the newly lowered car. Also, preempting this job, I did reangle my driveway well before lowering the car, forethought for the forecourt?
Outcomes? Firstly, I now have to buy a low clearance trolley jack. Ride height? Noticeably lower. Ride quality? I'm actually blown away by how good the ride quality is, notwithstanding the sins I have committed against sensible German vehicle development, design and culture. At least they are German springs!
All in all, a great project for the keen tinkerer!
Photos and the tale of the tape measure to come....

Strangely satisfying.

Rear spring seats, spongy polymer.

Stance!

I'd be interested in them. I have one that the silver is peeling off and these would be much better than a stock replacement ha-ha! PM me!
