Changed the ignition switch and doorsill trunk release switches. The ignition switch would not release the key. The front release switch was broke off.
Parts were $285.00 and $97.00 respectively. A couple hours some of that on my head.
Installed Apple car play with my stock head unit. Works great including wireless connection. Really nice being able to stream and have current maps. Our local genus PCA member at XX9research.com did the install.

Which company did you go with? Looking at doing the same.

sorry, I had his web address wrong, https://9xxresearch.com Install took about 6 hours as you have to pull out the head unit and install a new card that then plugs into a external board/processor. You can also add a wireless connection and a back up camera.
Installed the drivers seat. Went for a drive and fell even MORE in love! The car rotating feels so much different when glued into the seat.
now to wait the 6 weeks for the passenger seat and hopefully my wife has the same epiphany!
FWIW...I have them in my GTS and my wife loves her seat as much as I love mine. She says it feels like the seat is hugging her. She's 5'7" and 122 lbs so size may make a difference here.
These seats get a bad rap by many as uncomfortable and difficult to get in and out of. I actually think they're very comfortable and above all they connect you with the car like no other OEM Porsche seat comes close to imo. As for getting in and out of them, non issue after some practice.

I think they were an (expensive) option on any 997. They came as a non option from the factory on the 2009 C4S launch cars. Not sure but maybe same thing with the GT3 RS and the GT2. I think those would be the only other possible candidates though as far as standard from the factory.

You provided this anecdote in a thread more specific to these seats and it was the final nudge I needed to pull the trigger, thank you. My stomach was in a bit of a wringer as I did all mental gymnastics to justify the cost but once the seat was in I was in love. You can feel the car and the car rotating so much more in these seats.
There were already corners on track where I would think to my self “if I wasn’t pinning my knee to the door and having to white knuckle my wheel I’m sure I could be making this turn faster.” We will find out next week!
As for getting in and out, it makes me feel like a Duke brother.

Yeah, I've developed "holding" muscles in my thighs where I didn't realize muscles could exist 😀 😀 😀
I refuse to stuff pillows between me and the door and the center console!!!
