What do those shift **** inserts do? Just add weight and if so, for what purpose? Never saw that before.
Yeah, looks like you got the link, but they add weight and stiffen up the shift ****. I think it feels great - subtle but noticeable. Shift action is much more positive and less "cheap" feeling (combined with my numeric shifter).
I actually really like the look of the OEM ****, it's just annoying because it's cheap plastic. It's sad that my old Honda had a nicer shift **** than these cars. So this is a way to get better feel without losing the OEM look.

Totally agree. The OEM ***** ook nice, especially the turbo one, but they feel cheap and you can feel that it's multiple pieces out together as they all move a little in your hand. I had a nice looking OEM carbon one and sold it. Bought a RUF one when I was at their facility in Germany and it's fantastic. Single piece construction with ergonomic feel and shape. Love it.
Today I replaced my aging , yellowed door protective film trim strips with new ones Part# 99653723700. Such a simple but nice cosmetic improvement. BTW, I was going to order them from Suncoast but they wanted $15.00 to ship. When I complained , they said they could drop shipping to $9.00 . I said " no thanks" , ordered from my local dealer parts department and asked if they could put them in a #10 envelope and put a first class stamp on to mail them to me. They said, "no problem".

I get it now. Wish I had known about this when I had the B&M short shifter installed on my long gone -06 C4S. I know....not as good as Numeric but I hadn't heard of Numeric at that time (2007). The B&M made a world of difference though. Installed by the best tech at the dealership. He said cable adjustment is what it's all about. Took him three test drives before he was satisfied with my install but it was worth it. Pure perfection. One of the best mods....maybe the best mod I made on that car.

Thank you for sharing this. I wonder if regular PPF can be cut to shape and used?
Matt(inMA) probably that would work too. My post was about replacement but it was also rant against GREEDY suppliers with outrageous shipping costs especially when a first class postage stamp can get the job done.
I installed Rennline adjustable semi-solid engine mounts in my 997.2 C4S. Later, I washed and re-oiled the BMC air filters. I installed the IPD plenum in 2019.
I ordered a new starter motor and starter/alternator cable for my 997.1. This one has me nervous! Been reading all the posts I can find and watching videos several times. Don't know what I'd do without all you guys to help out!!
When that arrives and I jack the car up, I'll also complete oil change, manual transmission oil (got some Mobilube PTX sent up to Canada from Rennpart) and install a front lip from EMC2Design. I'll snap a few pics when done

Interested to know your impression on how those modifications changed the performance / operation of the car...
