FVD fuel filter relocate and flex pipe plenum/hoses...when you drop engines lots, you appreciate flexible hose over hard pipes LOTS, airflow is the bonus, fuel filter relocates to a smarter location away from engine heat and easier to replace
Sachs 487 P.P., ...764 works well, but something has a slight itch in the pedal when hot so it's all coming out and trying out a 487 this round... stock 996/997 Sachs P.P. beside it for a gt3
Would fender well intakes be easier to install and achieve the same thing you're doing with these intake tubes? Just curious

They even come with a pull out tool. I hear these do not fit exactly snug in the OEM wheels so we shall see once it warms up here
fender well intakes are no bueno in my books, dirty air and decent chance of hydrolock/water intake...and no time savings on a drop vs flex hoses, and no ability to run a MAF-based tune( or have diverters) or properly vent the oil tank....some drag guys like them as they can flow well but poor choice for edurance/true mileage cars

I got this FVD intake for a friend of mine who's running it on his car with the XR1000s. Nice parts but the hoses are a bit fragile so one must be careful they don't rub anywhere. Putting large shrink wrap tubing on them in critical areas helps with durability. The 487 is the way to go, good stuff. Ran that for a long time with the Cup LWFW and the Cup disc prior to switching to Tilton. The 764 plate seems to have a lot of warping issues that I've heard of when put through track abuse. I had one myself years ago that was sticky when hot.

yup definitely planning on doing something for abrasion and restraints, could've built it myself but time is money.
764 certainly has worked well but suspect something is off in the 'plate, or one of the needle bearings on the release shaft just isn't happy, either way doesn't feel perfect so out it comes and no screwing around... the only perk of winter downtime lol
What are the differences between the 764 and 487 plates? Do they hold the same amount of torque?
764 is about 600 ft-lbs and 487 is about 700 ft-lbs but the 487 is typically more expensive. I have the 764 with a 996.116.013.53 disc. It's stiff but I have not felt stock to compare it to.

IIRC the 764 is riveted and the 487 is bolted in... it's about a $400 difference between the two... the 487 is the superior upgrade but i went with the 764 since my car will never see the track...

Yes, 487 bolts help with higher rpm's. The 487 lists single mass flywheel only but I don't have experience with it.

I went with Markskis set up and thought the same thing about wear points - I'm going to wrap the entire hose assembly in thermal wrap, should take care of it.
There's an old shop here in NYC that specializes in rubber based products and has everything you could possibly imagine under a small roof. They have these hoses in all sorts of variants. I always think of them when I see these hoses.
