Does the fluid from the failure go into the master cylinder reservoir or overflow into the frunk area in front of the cowl? That stuff sounds like it's pretty harsh on coolant hoses, probably not ideal to get on wiring either.
Both are possible. But I've never seen a leak that managed to migrate beyond the master cylinder cap in the frunk e.g. no puddles per se? Worse however, is it can lead to fluid actually expelling inside the cabin under the steering column and above the pedals. That means it's really "bad". If you ever see Pentosin drops on your clutch pedal!? Well....

Hmm. There is a drip of fluid below the master cylinder but it hasn't fallen on the floor mat or pedal yet. I figured it was a bad seal but could be excess pressure.

Yup. And since that area is covered, often the first time an owner notices it is when the plastic cover panel starts to get distorted from the pentosin.
One thing I've done in the past was to take a folded paper towel and wrap it around the sides of the master reservoir, held on by an elastic band (hair bands kind of work perfectly). The white paper towel will absorb any bit of pentosin and act as a tell-tale for the early stages of an overflow.
While I was waiting (procrastinating) to install my new slave, I had a turkey baster that I transferred the pentosin from the front to the back to keep it from overflowing. Not as much fun as it sounds.
