Taking off the intercoolers and rear bumper would've saved you at least 3 hours, probably more for this job. Rear bumper comes off in ten minutes, intercoolers come off in about the same. Then you have full, unimpeded access to everything...
Friend who just finished breaking in his 2023 Camaro ZL-1 decided to go on a highway cruise Sunday morning. We did some runs - I kept up pretty much neck and neck...
Pretty pleased with the Markski 1.2 bar tune. I'm running just under 600 hp, but I've got AWD and am lighter by about 500 pounds...so I was able to keep up with his 650/650. Note: he has the 6-speed as well....pretty sure no way I can beat the 10-speed automatic...
No need to remove the regulator to add the adjuster, just do it in place. And if I recall, the cable is a loop, so no need to do two adjusters.
Don't overthink it... It's just a cable that gets a bit of stretch and a somewhat poor design not having a way to compensate for stretch. Imagine having to replace the derailleur on a bicycle every time the cable stretched instead of being able to adjust it??? Add the adjuster.
It will take far longer to find an adjuster in the right size and to remove the door panel than to actually thread the adjuster into the plastic and fix the actual problem which can be done in minutes.
Thanks so much for the reply. I just ordered the adjuster and will have in a few days.
Thank you! I see 7mm and 8mm adjusters available online but not 6mm. I will keep looking.
I put zip ties at the lower left and lower right on the drivers side. It seems to work sometimes but not always. The main problem is when I shut the door. The window does not stay down. I'm pretty sure the switches are working fine.
I just ordered these. Don't have then yet so can't say if they will work but based on the above comments they should

Took her for a very long drive. Got a very bad vibration at 150kph for the from right. Tire pressure were all about 5psi low. Topped them up and the vibration moved to 200kph and it's hard to tell where is coming from. I'll rebalance all the wheels. Tire noise is lower now but not as quiet as the RS4 or the other 996 with is newer Pirellis. There's lots of meat on them but they are about 5 years old.
I think I finally got the rear suspension set up properly. No more bounce and twerk.
To my surprise she handled pretty good in torrential rains without the front diff. Other cars pulled over but she could throw water and keep her footing.
Respect the Porsche engineers.
Sounds like there's a warp in one of the wheels, I have the same issue with my ps2s, but obvious at 100-140kmh. I tried to balance it out, no luck.
Gentlemen, a new OEM window regulator is below 100€ (at least in this country).
Replacement can be done in less than half an hour.
So decide whats the best strategy and long lasting. All wheels are from plastic and reason for the system getting loose can be manifold

... I find it pleasant to find solutions to a problem rather than continually consuming unnecessarily... Just because it's a Porsche doesn't mean it's well made... ex.: Coolant pipes, fuel pump hose, second gear pop out, intake cam seals, rear spoiler actuation... The list is long and things can be modified to last longer....It is not a Skoda but it is not a Toyota ;-)

The OEM regulators are $350, if you can find them. The $100 regulators fail soon after installing. These are 20 year old cars. A cheap fix is fine if it works and is hidden.
I suppose of course you could cut the cable somewhere, slide the adjuster on, and try and re-connect the cable with a crimp or something, but I wouldn't want to try it...
Go to a friendly old-school bicycle shop, talk directly to the bike mechanic. He probably has a jar full of adjusters he's taken off various bikes, grab a few sizes and tip him what you feel appropriate.

I've heard the same thing about non-OE regulators. Not worth the time it takes to install them, and OE regulators have become astronomically expensive, over $1,000 list and north of $750 even from OE parts discounters.
