Definitely one of the best bang for buck and easiest performance mods one can do on our Turbos, especially considering how deteriorated stock engine mounts are on most cars.... But even compared to new stock mounts, big difference.

Though I will disagree about the no extra NVH... Perhaps it is the combo of the 964 RS mounts with my titanium catless exhaust, but my Turbo definitely buzzes a bit at full throttle high rpm.. It is kind of delightful, but not sure i'd want it in a docile daily driver that never sees fast twisties.

Picked up the 'ol girl and drove 170+ miles in scorching heat and was glad my A/C works as it should. That blend door MacGyver fix I did awhile back has had zero negative effect on the performance or distribution of cold air.

Speaking of air I asked my current indie tech who is and was always imminently fair with labor costs and has allowed me to supply my own parts in our past projects to toss in a new Mahle paper element. Since mine was due for a change and the car was there. When I paid my tab for the car and asked what he was charging me for this, what should have been a $25-50 ( $50 if OEM branded, tops ) "part" I nearly fell on the floor upon hearing what he charged and what I paid without argument though not without disfavor. I didn't show him the five places I can get them for 20 bucks, that would have been rude.

So only a 500% markup +/-! on a paper Mahle. I guess he had to make it up somewhere, as no one gets in/out of a Porsche shop for a "job" with only one hour labor charge. But never again do I not "ask" if I'm not bringing the parts for a planned service. Glad it was just an air filter!

I notice some buzzing too when its cold, it seems to go away once its warmed up though. Do these things not settle/break in?

Are the mahle filters the same as the oem porsche ones? I forked out like $70 for an OEM one lol

I'm sure the outer packaging is different. Beyond that, I doubt it. Funny that was his answer to me when I enquired about the cost. It was "Porsche" branded!

Can feel some vibration at idle with the 964RS mounts in my car. Don't feel them otherwise.

I could hear a small amount of transmission whine after installing the 964 mounts AND installing stock exhaust. With the KLINE 2 1/2 i could not hear it (only the sweet sound of the exhaust).

Exactly what I said to him when I asked him for a ... MAHLE!

I should have asked for THE BOX.

the whine also amplifies if you have numeric cables too...

The silicon sleeves on the cables eliminates any whine.

My experience, however limited, is that any motor mounts other than OEM allow for driveline noise to be heard/felt by degree. This is certainly true even using "semi-solids".

I always have enjoyed the more "connected" sound/feel but was at first surprised at the added.. well it's not "VH" per se, just more akin to added "N" is all. I would also say it's "borderline" for a purely street/traffic driven car. But like anything we "paid for". We get used to it.

Nah it doesn't go away in my experience. The ones I put on my father in law's car were on mine for years, one of the first thing I did to the car. They did a little buzz on cold start and a less noticeable one around 2700-3k rpm the entire time they were in my car and once I put a loud exhaust on the car that masked the mid rpm buzz but never the cold start buzz. Now the same mounts don't make a single noticeable sound in his (car does feel stiffer over bumps/pavement cracks though). Maybe his exhaust masks it better than mine did, or 997 is more insulated. They're fully solid not semis so I don't think they degraded at all.

I ain't a boomer, pal!

They are RARE! In fact its pretty rare to see a 996TT even where I live. I've seen less than 5 in person tbh, including mine.
