what symptoms are you chasing? I had some driveability issues that behaved like a sticky throttle. Cleaned the pedal assembly, replaced the MAF because unplugging it seemed to make it better (wasn't it), and discovered my throttle body gasket was leaking when I pulled it for cleaning. You have already done a boostleak test right?

Just a less than linear gas pedal that made taking off from a stop and shifting in to 2nd a bit of a pain. It has gotten better so I don't believe it's anything other than the pedal or the sensor potentiometer. It has a ton of miles so it may just be it's age.
Andrew.....yep, I get where you're coming from on that and it's actually correct.....for the 09 C4S in the pic. I only have about 19,000 on the clock for this motor.
So, yea it's true, in the last 4 years I've been a very good customer for Porsche motors ....both for this 3.8 and the X50 on the Turbo.
I have a very understanding wife.

Did you try doing the TPS reset procedure? I do it once in awhile on my tip to improve throttle response.

No but I don't think it is a response issue. It seems to react correctly just felt like grit or something in the pedal travel. I did not find much dirt but the grease smoothed it out somewhat.
Well the winter fixing up project continues. New gt3 LCA’s, camber plate, and bump steer goodies going on. Old LCA was beyond gone. Bad news, discovered my inner CV boot torn, grease all over the under-car plastic shield thing. New boots on order, so now I just wait. Overall I love working on this car, it’s so easy compared to my GTR or friends newer model BMWs (everyone seems to drive a BMW now).
interesting... i was always of the thought that you should do Alcantara on the top dash to help eliminate sun glare... but i have to admit i like the leather on top better...
Yeah, that would make sense to me but it's the other way. I think they did this to carry the theme of leather on top / Alcantara on bottom both on the dash and the door panels. Leather then also covers the A/B/C Pilars and the headliner is natural Alcantara. Having leather on top makes it much more maintenance friendly.

I am working on fixing a sticky throttle. After removing the pedal assembly and pulling on the cable that goes to the position sensor in the dash I don't think it's the pedal. Can this rotary sensor be lubricated or something similar to fix this problem?
It's hard to be smooth on the accelerator and makes 1st and 2nd gear a chore. Picture of cam lever and sensor below borrowed from another user's post:
Look at the plastic throttle assembly. That is oftentimes sticky making the throttle a bit jumpy as you slowly depress it. I had the same issue years ago prior to switching to the all metal Rennline throttle pedal.

The torn boot, in my case, was enough to push me to the rwd conversion. Maybe something to consider.

Cleaning the plastic assembly and greasing rotation points definitely helped. I will keep an eye out for a used position switch and keep the metal pedal assembly in mind. Thanks.
For those who are going to attack axle shaft boots, allow me to give you some recommendations following my recent experience with an axle shaft on my 2010 Mercedes C350....
I had doubts about the collars sold by Amazon but I must admit that they are of very good quality, strong and very easy to install... The plyers, stay away from cheap ones below $10.00.... I broke them on the first try ;-( Get something similar to the one on the picture. It is not necessary to buy the one like a block with which you can use a ratchet to tighten the collar... But it is a nice, not expensive tool ;-)
Stay waway from this cheap tool....
Get something like this one which is really good!
Interresting but not necessary....
