I use the DSC sport controller in the TTS, with a gt3 touring calibration, it works very well, but still a little harsh over tracks and potholes.
The valving in the gt3rs is a great deal more aggressive, and admittedly, I have not driven a gt3rs with a DSC, but stock to stock versus the TTS, the gt3rs is not what I would ever consider as a daily.... Probably getting too old.
I would very much like to try a touring, that engine, but a little more civilized.
The GT3RS would not be a daily. Pleasure drives only.
Getting ready to receive the rebuilt gearbox with GT2 slave conversion, so decided to blow out the power steering lines. Glad I did. This stuff was nasty. Now I guess i have to do the other cars too as I am sure they are similar. Power steering fluid looking a bit spent after 21 years.
Almost got the Turbo totalled this AM on a nice fall drive.
Driving along, light changes to yellow, I slow down to make the stop and not run the light (there's a speed camera and red light camera at this intersection, and you can't fight the tickets). I hear an old Dodge Ram Camper fan (IDK - 1970's? 1980's) lock up the brakes and I can see him in my rearview tanding on the brakes. If I didn't start going again and roll into the intersection, it would have been toast for the Turbo today.
No, I don't think I stopped abruptly or too short. Super glad I was paying attention, woah boy....
I took my 996TT out for a thrilling drive along scenic routes. Checked the engine, and it's running smoother than ever. Washed and detailed it, ensuring it looks as good as it performs.

That would have been unfortunate - taking a truck up the back end is not good for our cars.
Doubtful. I love this car and there isn't really anything out there that I could reasonably afford that does anything better than this car can do it. It's so modded that I don't care about originality anyway.
Same thoughts on my 2001 TT. I have met a few purist that gave me the stink eye but oh well, it’s my car
Took my car out for a nice night drive… I need to put on the new LCA’s. My passenger side one is shot and makes the car sound like it’s an old wooden sail boat. Lol. Still enjoyed the drive though.
Pulled the intercoolers off to have a look and clean them. Either one of the previous owners was a smoker, or someone didn't care for him and took to putting their butts down the intercooler intake. Absolutely no smells or other signs on the interior of a smoker though.
Yep smoker. I had the same thing in mine but it had been a long time since that owner had the car so it didn't smell. I also have some water damage to the side of my seat presumably from smoking with the window down on rainy Oregon days.
Not sure whats up with that... when I pulled my ICs to put on GT2RS ones, I had found the same thing.

Yesterday, the bi-anual technical inspection was due on the wife's tt ... it seems the refresh I spent into the car two years ago was a good invest.
The only flaws shown on the report: front left parking light bulb blown and both rear license plate lights were defect.
After 20 years, that latter ones were suffering from the heat coming from the bulbs and became brittle. Both fell into pieces when removed from the bumper.
Replacement of the original part using the Porsche part number will let you pay around 50 Bucks for one!
However you can use the Porsche Boxster Licence Plate Light part no. HELLA 2KA 004 331-031
The pair is available for about 20 Bucks ... however be prepared replacing the spade connectors from male to female.
And when changing the parking light, you have to remove the whole front light assembly. Nobody will blame you when carrying it around like a new born baby, once you told them what the price of a replacement one is.
