Also have to replace the passenger side axle seal on the transmission, maybe..... Could just be the dumb slave leaking

Hose from the new AEM 340lph fuel pump blew off on the road. Pushed it into a restaurant parking lot. The crimped band was loose. Managed to get almost home before it blew off again. Got home tightened the crimp nice a tight. ****er blew off again!! This time a thick fat jubilee band should hold things together.
Can I really trust this car still?

I have the same AEM pump and I have had the same problem - repeatedly. The pump does not have a barbed output fitting so there is nothing to grab, no matter how tight the hose clamp is. I am now using two of the fuel injection hose clamps.
I am going to replace the pump with a Walbro that has a barbed fitting which I expect to completely solve this irritating problem.

wasn't Mazda starting to reproduce parts for old cars? other manufacturers should consider the same...

VW has VW Classic Parts. Classic Parts has a lot of old stock parts for lots of out of production VW cars. Sometimes - very rarely - they will reproduce NLA parts. Classic Parts did make a batch of roof trim strips for Corrado last year. Classic Parts doesn't sell directly to the USA, I have used a similarly named company in Britain to order from Classic Parts in Germany and ship me the parts. Some rather obvious parts like gearshift ***** and parking brake handles and fog lamps are impossible to find in good condition.
I seem to remember that Nissan made batches of parts for the first generation Z-cars when they were doing their factory refurbish program 20-odd years ago. I still have some in baggies here, waiting for the time I may need them.
I have been rather impressed with the parts support that Porsche provides.

I also need to replace the pump wires at the harness. I did a hack job putting in thicker gauge wires.
Now I understand why the abs/psm light came on it usually means MAF but if it's not getting enough fuel that's I'll trigger the light too.
Since my RS4 is the same age as the 996 I'll order a new pump to be safe.
