At this point, the fact there's a button which ejects parts from the car is hilarious. Good on you Porsche for the $107.50 laugh today
Been there, done that.

Default Wash, graphene protectant and headlight polish work

I did this yesterday. Washed the car, then I used 303 protectant to coat it . I have also been working on the headlights first using meguiars plastic and then finally cerakote. Not done yet with the turbo, but still significantly better. Regarding the 303 product I have used it in my other cars and I really likes how it works, I just don’t know yet how long it last happy weekend to everyone.

This morning the graphene coating showing pretty good results.

The products I have been using. The 303 product is pretty good I just don’t know how long it’ll last.

Yep, can still break plastic parts without even touching them.

Default Porsche dashcam installation

After deciding I wanted a dashcam, I found out about the Porsche front+rear kit and went for it after investigating all bits and pieces needed.

Completed this yesterday and it’s working great.

Front camera from within the car:

Just after applying the front blackout sticker:

Using a modified Audi template to setup the blackout sticker position

Rear camera view. The round things are the Focal sub drivers I’ve installed in the original sub box. They look light grey here but they’re black

Front camera

Quite happy with the result. The image quality is quite good, front and rear as they’re both 1440p

They’re Porsche. It’s the kit 9Y0044951 (two cameras) but a few more bits are needed such as the cable, harness, fuses, etc kit 9Y0044931 and either a ready made 2.5m (minimum) 4-pole mini jack (2.5mm) cable to connect the cameras together (which I couldn't find anywhere) or the parts to make your own, which is what I did:

2 x 4-pole 2.5mm mini-jacks
2.5m 4-pole cable

It's a weird choice of connector for this use case but it's what they chose.

Alternatively, it may be possible to use an Audi cable kit 4G0063511R that comes with the 2.5mm cable incorporated in the camera bracket and even an extension:

It looks compatible, bracket-wise, to the Porsche front camera but am not 100% sure since this Audi part is for the 1st gen cameras, whereas the Porsche cameras are equivalent to Audi's 2nd gen, so I'm not sure whether the wiring and pinout is really compatible. That's why I didn't risk it.

These things are in the TEquipment catalog and are made in South Korea by a company (not Chinese!) called Mobile Appliances Inc.

@2fcknfst I'll let you try it on yours first and then you can tell me if you like it or not before I do it on mine

or you can run with a thinkware unit which is what I put in mine. Smaller footprint front and rear, same image quality, with park detection modes and battery cutoff protection. The only annoyance is all the talking the thinkware units do on startup, however, it does give you an incident count which is good to let you know if something happened while you were away.

Thinkwares come in many flavours: U1000 is UHD at the front and 1080p at the rear, Q800 1440p front + 1080p rear. The Porsche kit does also have battery cuttof protection and comes with integrated GPS and radar, front and rear. None of the Thinkwares or Blackvues come with radar (for parking mode), although it is an optional module for the front, in the case of the Thinkwares.

I went with this Porsche kit because I found it to be actually the cheaper and best value and of course, the Porsche brand and logo does count. The only advantage of Thinkware/Blackvue offerings was the front better rez at 4K instead of 2K. At the rear, Porsche has 2k, which none of the others offer. And I got the Porsche kit for about 2/3 of the price of the Thinkware/Blackvue offerings. Can't beat that.

Comes with front & rear camera, USB-C Cables, Cigarette lighter power adaptor, 2,4 & 5 GHz WiFi, GPS, Mobile Phone App, Wireless remote control...

Yes, Vantrue and Viofo appear to be great values in terms of specs vs cost.

Flushed the brake fluid on 4 cars. Damn this hobby takes time, energy and money. Goldfish should be cheaper.
