Default Got it back

Got my car back. Drove it more than 50 miles and yes supersonic quite a few times. Wow that was a long time, my last drive was on October 26.

Replaced the engine compartment blower fan. Bearings were giving out on the old unit and it was giving off a high pitched whine. 996 part was superseded by 997-624-046-01.
Accidentally posted on the 996 forum but this part number is shared across most 996 and 997.1 platforms.

New fan on the left, old fan on the right.

...did that during summer at the car of my wife.
Beside the bearings..... in case the dampers of the lid get tired over the years and closing the lid happens more harsh than soft, the plastic cage broke in my case.

Because replacing the fan is MUCH more expensive than replacing the dampers, I now always will replace the dampers before those don't perform their job properly anymore.

Not today, but I've gotten some cool updates on my engine build progress the past couple of days.

I'm not sure how much is proprietary data so I won't go into ton of the intricate details right now (next time I speak with Chris I'll ask if I can share pics and what info is ok to talk about), but just seeing it all coming together and talking about the valvetrain setup/cam timing and potential gains with how we set things up is exciting to me. But basically everything is there, the head work and machine work are done, and the engine is assembled so now it is all the details are being dialed in, clearances checked and everything is working out exactly as we had hoped to this point.

Ahhhh, the art of saying a lot, without actually saying anything, is alive and well I see...

No worries - I'm just an engine *****, and everytime someone builds one, it reminds me of how much I want to build one.

Put my eyes on it for the first time. Super clean, as dealer seller predicted. Drove it an hour, zero issues. First Tip experience.

A little too close to that curb for comfort...

Looks like a beautiful car though, love the color combo.

So I'm replacing spark plugs and the master slave clutch at moderate to considerable expense. Driving on the highway and press the windshield washer stauk the wrong way and the headlight washer cover went flying off the car.

At this point, the fact there's a button which ejects parts from the car is hilarious. Good on you Porsche for the $107.50 laugh today
