What did you do to your 996TT today?
@docwyte what was your overall take on the Soul catted system? i'm well down the exhaust rabbit hole (custom) and very close to giving up. admittedly, i want to have my cake and eat it too: loud with great tone/sound, but minimal drone

I can see @kamlung foaming at the mouth from here...
It's loud. These cars seem to be hard to get an proper exhaust on. Either it's like stock, which is practically silent, or it's really loud. Any exhaust that doesn't have a proper muffler and cats in it is going to be really loud on our cars. Around town the Soul sounds great, on the freeway at 80mph for more than 20 minutes, it's just too loud in the cabin for me.
when i first installed the Kline, i was running test pipes on it. I just put cats on it last year and it has quieted it down a little but Doc nailed it 100%, if you are ripping around town then any aftermarket exhaust sounds great. but cruising in 6th between 65-80 for a long period of time is also unbearable for me. with the cats, if i keep it 80 or above, it's completely silent now. so for now i just go faster.
i kinda wish someone would make a true valved exhaust. stock with the valves closed, and straight piped off the cat with it open

whilst i'm not jumping at the chance to spend money on the car, eventually if the car becomes more of a roadtrip vehicle, i will consider either going back to stock or the EP...

I agree. The Soul did quiet down if you cruised closer to 90mph, however that's definitely get your *** pulled over and receive a large $$$ ticket here. One of the things that also separates the Europipe from the other exhausts is the size and quality of the cats they use. Basically if Porsche had made an optional sport exhaust for our cars, it'd be like the Europipe. That's really the best way I can describe it. If you're looking for more of an rowdy, aftermarket sounding exhaust, the Europipe isn't for you. If you want something that's OEM+, could pass for stock, fits like stock and still sounds great, it's a Europipe.

I am going to take the 996 for my annual run to Alberta this year, we will see how I feel after 2400kms in 24 hours.

For those who want something between the Europipe Quiet version and the higher dB exhausts talked about here, I suggest looking for a used Europipe Stage 2 Loud.
