The hood struts on my TT were replaced by the previous owner and they appear to be OEM porsche ones, they have to be atleast 1 year old and work great.

I put a set of ultra-power hood struts on my 89 MK3 Turbo Supra from rockauto about 3 years ago and they seem to be holding up fine.

Porsche Hood Shock Genuine Porsche 996 511 551 01 99651155101 996-511-551-01 996.511.551.01 | Pelican Parts

$37 a pop from Pelican for OEM..

LESJÖFORS makes the struts for Porsche. You could go to RockAuto and get LESJÖFORS struts for $14.48 each.

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...t+support,1404

While you are there you can order a set of Hella wipers, also the OEM for Porsche.

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...per+blade,8852

I would go with Valeo though. They're better.

Thanks, Pelican was my first stop for selection and I think those are "it".

I just noted them also and never saw the brand before. I'll consider them and I'm a bit cautious re Rock owing to my recent issues with them. But I will look around. Someone suggested Walmart! of all places if I didn't want to buy online. Interesting brands I've never bought or heard of before.

Thanks gents!

I was pretty sure STABILUS was the OEM supplier for the hood struts. They sell them at any auto parts store.

I'll pass by a few AP stores today and will look for them. It's tough to beat Rock Auto pricing though. The order with all four items is less than the cost of UPS shipping! I'll take Carlo's advice and try those "Valeo" wiper blades.

Yes, I have seen some Porsches with that brand as OEM too.

The Hella branded blades say 21 inches while ours stipulate requiring "22". Think that would matter? Can't believe how cheap they are at $2.50 each!

21" will be fine.

The wiper on the passenger side (right side) is curved thus the two different art numbers.

Thanks for clarifying that as I'm going to brick/mortar place(s) today see what I can find. While buying online is so much easier. 25$ worth of stuff and $20+ in S&H is counter intuitive for me. Appreciate the tips though as storm season has arrived. I actually enjoy buying 20$ parts for this car, and am amused as most fixes are not that inexpensive, don't we all know.

Would the Numeric shifter cables make notchiness go away or would they make the problem feel worse?

where do you feel the notchiness?

i feel a slight notch in second, but no popout issues or grinding noises.... no difference before the numeric cables or with fluid change...

Depends on your shifter; mine is like a rifle bolt, so quite notchy, but very precise.

Ben Auto Design with machined side lever. There are no detents in the shifter though, it's all in the transmission.
