Everyone reading this thread should STRONGLY ENCOURAGE (apply MAX peer pressure) to Mr. Dejeeper to attend the track day at Lime Rock early September with his soon to be newly assembled supercar. He has so far been non-committal to the invitation. There will be a gang of bad *** 996's in attendance terrorizing the track and I think most would agree - Mr. Dejeeper should make sure he is included...
I will even take all sorts of video of his sick machine so everyone can really take in the fruit of his labors
Let the encouragement begin !
Saw quite a few of your videos. The last one was vs the callaway corvette. Anyway great stuff, I would be interested in seeing your shifting points (rpms). Any Idea what your car weights now?? wish you the best at your next track day and keep on Making Videos. Maybe we got off in the wrong way, but we definitely have a common interest in our cars and how they perform, regards Luis.
Now i have figure out how to defeat the seat belt tensioner airbag code in the modual. The doner didnt have the belts in it and i assume its an mk2 thing?
only other real code in gettjng is a can bus connectiin code to the jnstrument cluster.
Yeah 5 weeks is pretty impressive, with all the parts shortages and 3 weeks ship time from Germany stuff.
I'm using Todd at Protomotive to handle recoding may tip to manual swap. He says he can recode the instrument clusters, or he said he knows someone who can do it. The seat belt tensioners came in in 2002.

I answered you question over in my thread to keep this one about DJ’s bad *** exploits.
Im still waiting in the rear deck and cage to get back from the paint shop and the reman steering rack has been painfully slow in shipping so there still is a bunch more work to be done but this happened today.
if you are going to track it make it as mean as possible, hell just go straight pipes, no mufflers, no cats. Make it spit 🔥 fire.
Well its not gonna be a full race car. I still need it to be nice to drive around town. Eventually ig will get long tube headers and some 200 cel cats. Muffler may go at that point or at least a lighter muffler will be got.

I dont think it needs to be recoded. I am using the gt3 harness, cluster and dme. It should all be playing together. I do have one plug in the cluster with a broken lock? I will probably pull the cluster and double check eveything. Ill see how the tensioner delete modules work and then keep an eye out for the correct belts. Of course the po cut the wires so ill need to splice in the harness too.
OMG! I'm buried at work for a week and the world changes. Great freakin' job!!! There are very few people that could pull this off. Many hats off to you. I heard you were going to Lime Rock. I'm happy to crunch any data you generate when you go with the 996 gang.
I guess its time for an update i had another week of of vaca camping up in Lake George, NY. Nice area of the country to hang out if u ever get the chance. All week long i was chomping at the bit to get the car on the ground and driving. So i still need to finish the interior, seats, cage, belts and center consul. In the exterior i still needed to install the new steering rack, bleed brakes, add the front brake shields and a bunch of little things that came in from germany while i was away. Well it took the rest of last week but its now driveable. I had to pull it back in and adjust the alignment. It was squirlly as hell for the first drive. Now its tolerable. Its now on the pete and i drop it off tomor for corner balance and race alighnment. Here of some pics as i finished it up and a couple of vids of me driving.
Rsr uprigjts amd the fancy ducting brake shields
Interior. I really thought it was gonna be worse. The red belts on the red seats blend nice and it breaks up the sea of black. Gonna need a removable steerung wheel eventually. I forget how good they look from the back
First drive outside the neighborhood, super scetchy. Also phone was on mirror image so i get that figured out for the next vid.
Drive after the realignment. i pulled 2nd to about 7800rpm.and 78mph. I kind ran out of safe road. Dont know if its the hp, poor camber in the back or the ls but its super easy to rip the back end out.
