Totally uncompensated plug for my guys at Pelican who are one of my go to vendors and Rennline which makes some stuff for our cars that is really good quality but more importantly for me, they make stuff that no one else does.

Pelican has 15% off Rennline Battery kits. Depending on which battery you go with, HUGE weight savings opportunity from pretty high on the car to boot.

Thought I would pass along for those that follow this thread thinking it may be of interest to some of you.

Heres my setup from back in the thread a ways.

Rennline mount is the EASIEST way to add a kill switch! It fits great.

There is already a bolt(hinge bolt) in the perfect location for the pull cable too.

I have added a second cable stop so I can easily enable/disable the cable pull. (takes under 30 seconds to pop the frunk, grab a screwdriver, and disable/enable)
This way when I'm going to park my car for a while in a parking lot, I don't have to worry about someone pulling the kill switch.
But it's there waiting to be enabled for track days.

If I need to disconnect battery power for maintenance/mods, it takes 10 seconds to hit the kill switch.
It's manual function remains even with the second cable stop disabling the cable pull.

So, starting last preparations before getting it on the road...

Need to get my new tire setup mounted before I bring it to corner balance / align. Figured before I did, I would do a quick once over on the alignment so I don't damage the tires on the way to the shop... only 15 miles or so, but ya know... tires are GD expensive and I plan to make these suckers work for that investment, and toe smokes tires...

Moral of the story... definitely do a once over on the alignment when you change.... everything in the suspension haha.

Camber F+R = Good enough
Toe F = Perfect
Toe R = Holy Sh... really... got to check again... no, that's right... 1.5in toe in

Needless to say, going to dial some of that out before we make the trip to the shop with the stickers on.

Also, I never posted a photo of the clearance I made on the inside of the rear fenders, putting it up in the event it may help someone later.

Funny my rear fenders look the same. Lowered and 19's from the po forced me in to it. Then i learned something and swiched to 18's. I stll have an issue with the 235's on front pass side hitting the plastic and fan mount. . Maybe the ohlins will fix that?

I have some contact in the same spot in the front with the 245's... that reminds me I need to massage a little more space in there... Not too worried about it as its pretty minor and looks to only happen when the wheel is pretty far cranked over. I'll deal with it after the suspension setup is done as that will have things living where they're going to be for a while.

Thanks for making me not feel so bad for my chop job... That spot is a bitch for clearance...

My car has the same mods to the fender wells to clearance my wheels. Big tire issues.

Regarding the front clearance:

Got the car moving under it's own power...

Starting with the bad:
Weep of oil in the filter area, Got to identify source - should not be too bad (hopefully)
Got a PO420 CEL (HELP)
Have an outside temperature sensor fault (HELP)... I have sneaking suspicion this may be from the connector I broke behind the cluster... I just need to know if its something I need to worry about.

Skip...if you don't post I'm calling you and interrupting your weekend

The good:
Drove great !
Was able to wash a couple pounds of dust off of it.

Tires get mounted and Monday and it goes in for corner balance and alignment later in the week.

I LOL'd...

If people knew how many times I had to call him for help... It is almost a certainty - If I do it without first asking Skip how to do it, its effed up til he gives me a virtual slap upside the head and sets me right.

Would also appear I found the culprit for my oil leak... I cranked that little SOB down to...

Give it two high temp silicone cap(sules) and call me in the morning ...

Don't freak out, nothing ominous going on here.

P0420 = cat efficiency, start by checking fuel trims, if ok move on the ensure no exhaust leaks, if ok then monitor 02sensor behind cat (possible causes : fuel trim/vacuum leak, exhaust leak, lazy 02 sensor, fouled cat.)

Sometimes heating up the cat really hot can burn off some crud and make the efficiency get back in range..

The outside air temp sensor is just FYI , not really important to any system except A/C with you have eliminated anyway. and yes probably due to the wiring behind cluster..

Thank you Skip !....Again I'm going to chalk it up to sitting for a long time... I hit the kill switch and will see if it reoccurs.

So check this out... the log from my first start and drive.

At Startup:

OIL T 48 DEG
WAT T 41 DEG

At startup Oil Pressure went to 100PSI and stayed until it started to drop at around 120 DEG OIL T. Seems high.

If anyone wants me to go into more detail on the log, let me know. It covers about 21 MIN of driving.

What OBD scanner app (IOS) people using to see fuel trims ?

I have the Foxwell WIFI scanner below...

Amazon Amazon

ETA... Nevermind - found one.

But... I did post a WTB for a Durametric... figure its time I step up to the plate and pick one up. If anyone is looking to unload, I'd be interested in an enthusiast version.

Well, she’s back where she started the weekend, but a lot of progress made.

Fixed the oil leak last night and flipped the kill switch on the battery to clear out the CEL. Took her for another round today and did a 30 mile run without the CEL coming back. Does sound like the cat may be rattling a bit, so we’ll see.

Only downside of the run was ABS/PSM fault coming up, gotta diagnose and fix that before the first track day. Looks like I’ll be placing an order for a Durametric tomorrow if no one comes out with one for sale, hopefully it will point me in a direction.

Guess what I’m doing tomorrow.

I don't know how far you are from me, but if you need to borrow a Durametric, let me know.

Thank you very much - I am going to see if I can get one in time for next weekend, that will give me 2 weekends to get it figured out - if I can't, I may take you up on it and take a ride up - if you would not mind PM'g me where you are so I know what I'd be up against for a drive. I'm in Douglas, MA... right in the nook bordering both RI and CT, and conveniently, about 10 minutes away from the race track in Thompson, CT
