Sometime in the future someone will ask, and now we can tell them, “Yes, it can be done!”

Thx everyone. The 25mi i have put on it so far have been a blast. The dash says 8k. There is a chance that the tune has that raised but i hope not. There u no range 2 over revs on the motor and i dont want to put any on it.

Ill be in the green group. I have never been on that track so i figure i could learn it and the car at a slower pace. The event is here.

Sounds like a good plan. That’s my least favorite configuration. This has 3.5 garbage corners, and most of it seems off camber for the direction it is normally run.

North and South East are so much more fluid.

Fantastic job. I love those front uprights and brake cooling shields.

Well back at it again. Back on 7/16 i stopped into a local porsche indy that was recommended to me for a corner balance, alignment and inspecion.

Dropped it off monday 8/9, by wed he said that he wasnt gonna be able to do the alignment. I guess in the previous 3 weeks he neglected to schedule rack time off site becuase he doesnt have a rack in house. Kinda pissed me off and mean while he had not spent any time on the car yet. So he does finish the corner balance and inspection late fri, barely in time for me to pick up. He managed to butt rape me for 12 hrs and he still couldnt finish the job in 5 days. The good thing is he did find a few things wrong and fixed them but his time management sucks.

So here I am fri evening with a crap alignment and a track day on monday at pocano, what do u do? Well u get on youtube and learn how to do a string alignment. Fcpeuro has a nice vid explaining it so off to Lowes i go and buy $75 worth of stuff. I spent about 9hrs today getting it right but it drives straight and should be right at home in the track. I would hate to do this on the ground. The 4 post really helps as i could get under it to add shims and make the adjustments.

Ultimately i should have just bought a set if scales with what i spent and did the whole job myself.

The final measurements. All in mm.

My messy *** garage packed to the gills. At least u can see how is set it up.

Agressive camber

How to lock down the steering wheel

good work. I've been intrigued by seeing string alignment . One of those things and maybe I'll have to give it a go...

I've done string alignments many times. You can do as good a job as an alignment shop, it just takes a really long time. 9 hours sounds about right.
I have a SmartCamber gauge, one of these: https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/pr...asp?RecID=1206
And a triple laser alignment system, one of these: https://www.chassistools.com/shop/tr...ignment-system

If I spend an entire day using them I can get my alignment about spot on. I wish I had a set of scales, perhaps some day.

I can't wait to see how your car goes on the track. One thing I am sure of, you'll never worry about oil pressure drops again.
