Finished up the front wiring and started putting the front end together. Found out this car has super fancy RS front uprights. The CO's are Ohlins gt3 ser up, terett tops and sway bar mounts. I swapped in my coffins but used the elephant monoballs that came with the car. The ball joints in my arms only had a few k mile on them. The new forks meyles frim fcp. I still have to torque things down but it is nice to get things back on the car.

I did fugure out that the gt3 rack is damaged, bent arm due to accedent and my c2 rack has a slight leak so i think im just gonna get a reman. For the $250 it didnt seem worth getting a low milage one from a yard.

New cfs third rad is also in. It matches the other 2. Its kinda a pita install. U have to drop the other 2 rads out to get the hoses on and then the center rad mount assembly orientation doesnt make sense until u fit it to the car. Anyways sepent too long on it but it looks good. Just need to cut the hole in the front bumber.

Sunday was productive. Lots if little things done. Front suspension, msi studs and brakes are in and torqued down. I have to use my stock sport sway bars for now and still need the new rack. A little ronald mcdonld on the colors but oh well.

Went with pagid yellows and since they dont make slottled rotters specifically for the the gt3 they do make the rotor in the same size dor a new cayman. I had to drill the hole for the retainer screws because that different bit the rest is the same.

Bumper cut is dine and fits nicely.

Plugging away... finished assembly of the rear suspension, new e-brake shoes, msi rear studs and shocks installed. Turns out that i have the wrong rear callipers in the box when i bought the car. He should have the correct ones shipped out in a day or so. Next step is to finish up the rear plumbing and wiring. I also got the rest of the rubber and plasic from porsche to refresh the engine hoses.

Got all the coolant hoses and almost all of the vac lines swapped out. I need another 2 meters of the rigid vac tube and then i can put the intake back on. I also got the trans bolted on with an upgraded clutch fork pivot from Rauch and Spiegel. This trans is very different then the old c2 unit. Also the rest of the plumbing, wiring and little things r done under the car. A few more small parts from the dealer and the drive train will be installed.

Very nice! There are a lot of vacuum hoses on these things for sure.

Can you measure the clutch slave hose? I need to get or make one for my car. I've swapped out the Turbo power clutch for the GT3 regular clutch and I need to finalize the hydraulic line. The Turbo line is too short.

Np, ill get it tonight. Ill also get u a pic of the hard line.

The gt3 didnt really have a lot of vac lines. The turbo must have a lot more because i returned a bunch of parts that showed on the drawings but were not on my car.

Thank you. Yes the Turbo's probably got twice as many vacuum lines.
BTW, your post about popping a coolant hose at NJMP reminded me. If you have changed the "omega" clips that hold the coolant flex lines to the engine and the car's hard lines be careful, there's a error in the parts catalog that causes a lot of grief. The two omega clips for the engine need to be the same size, the two for the car's hard lines need to be the same size. Two of each size. The parts catalog shows 3 and 1. Doing what the parts catalog shows will get you a line popping off at the worst time.

I did read that and i do need to order that second clip. Right now i have a small issue with the coolant resi touching the drivers side hard pipe so i have to mod something to make some room.

Thanks for the hose length. You've installed the GT3 hard lines? It should fit with those.

Yes i the hard line was the same to the connection point under the drivers seat area, then i swapped jn the gt3 hard line. Should fit like a glove.

Do the turbo guys use urethane trans mount inserts. My factory ones r shot and wondering it ita worth the extra $ for aftermarket?

Most of the Turbo guys are running the 997 trans mount with the holes in the rubber filled in with window-weld urethane. That's what I'm running. Cheap and effective. You still need the two rubber "ears" that go on both sides of the mount or it will klunk in turns.

I wonder if some of your rear pipe clips are not pushed in all the way. Which way does the pipe need to go to get the clearance you need?
I will try to look in there on my car later. It's really tight on the Turbo, there is a huge intake duct between the engine and the coolant tank. Here's what it looks like, it is hard to see much.

The coolant is wedged on top of the pipe. U can not slide the clip in. It may be a minor difference in how the tank mounts. As mine was a mk1 c2. It seems to be a 1/4" too low. Ill get a pic after dinner.

i may just get the factory rubber side pieces for now and get new mounts this winter. I have long past my budget .
