Nice! Can the hats be separated from the steel rotor or will you need to replace the entire unit when the time comes? I don't think rears take as much of a beating so should probably last you for much longer either way. I need to see this thing in person one of these days when I'm passing by your area!

The rotors r 2 piece so u just replace the ring. They r a little pricey at $400/pair but the rotational weight savings and the extra cooling benifits should offset the costs. Fast=$$$

I bought a season pass at njmp with Motorsport Enthusist. Their events r on the Motorsportreg site. I should be able tiake most of their events. lmk if u can make it to the track.

I might go Girodiscs in the front since going to the "big Brake Kit" rotors did add some additional weight.
I assume they make rotors for the 997 turbo rear.

That's my goal for this year so will definitely be in touch. Just waiting for the UIDS to come out to give me some extra confidence in the car, despite being a total noob at track driving. I think Summit Point will have a PCA event in early March for newbes like me so I'm looking to sign up for that.

U want the same rotors i am using on the back. A-031 and 32. They will have the provision for the e-brake drum but it doesnt interfere with anything up front.

I will be at summit this year too but a little later in the season.

With the four straights over 100 Summit is a killer on the brakes.
There in November for the metro season finale. Had open track at 3 o’clock Saturday until no one was left.

U need to hit Watkins Glen and Vir if u want high speed.

I should be in WG in june but think i may skip vir this year. I want to goto Pitt Race at least once this year too.

You will save ~4 lbs a wheel in weight with the 2 piece floating hat rotor, maybe more. I had no idea about girodisc until DJ mentioned them. I run a Brembo big brake kit (355F and 345R) with the 2 piece rotors.

Costs me 3k for front and back combined for Brembo replacement rotor rings. Girodisc is under 1.2k front and back combined. Savings of 1.8k and made in the USA!

They have all the major sizes plus cost and weight savings.

Since i put in some rennline motor mounts the tips were all jacked up. I really didnt like the fabspeed tip that i had on there maxflows. Mostly because the drivers side got knocked around and i couldnt adjust it straight. I also perfered the factory oval tip because it fits the bumper shape better. The issue i have is i got mk2 tips that r longer but im gonna live with it because it took a rediculous amount of time to get them looking this good.

Here is a pic, if anyone sees a set of mk1 oval tips out there send me the link.

They do stick out kinda far.

I would search eBay for “Porsche 996 used engine 3.6”
Also check LA Dismantler & DC Automotive websites.

Thanks - sorry to be derailing some ones thread it was an intended reply to Mr Raby stating he had so many offers of unwanted 3.4 cases. Which I would value.

LN has the videos, its best if you get it from them when they do block work for you.

3.4 cores are easy to find, and cheap. I turn them down every week or so when people try to sell them to us. We don't live off of cores like mass producers do, since we build the customer's engine, and I haven't been taking on any catastrophic losses for the past couple of years.

Have fun with it, failure= opportunity. You just have to change the way that you look at it.
If you are still in the same position I have ticket #9408 an elective 3.4 to 3.8 at LN engineering, and being in Australia would love to have a core to send to them. and buy every video you list as remote countries appreciate information. I'm ex Australian Army may be you've met some of us as an ex-Marine.
