Everyone reading this thread should STRONGLY ENCOURAGE (apply MAX peer pressure) to Mr. Dejeeper to attend the track day at Lime Rock early September with his soon to be newly assembled supercar. He has so far been non-committal to the invitation. There will be a gang of bad *** 996's in attendance terrorizing the track and I think most would agree - Mr. Dejeeper should make sure he is included...

I will even take all sorts of video of his sick machine so everyone can really take in the fruit of his labors

Let the encouragement begin !

Thumbs up Hope it starts today.

Man you have done an incredible job. Other than minor stuff I'm past my wrenching days, but I got an awesome 33 year old guy as my mechanic. Anyway, I appreciate all you have done. I understand a bunch more about the engine, the systems, what s its involved. Take your time make sure all systems are good etc, and go racing when you are good and ready. It would be a shame if things are rushed and there is another incident. You have definitely spent a huge amount of time and pretty good amount of money on this. I almost got a one owner 2004 GT3 yesterday silver with 68,000 miles. The car was on Pcar My number was $65, the car went for $69 and change with fees $73K. You are going to have a hell of a ride.

Im still waiting in the rear deck and cage to get back from the paint shop and the reman steering rack has been painfully slow in shipping so there still is a bunch more work to be done but this happened today.

the po did this to the mount on my car with the old engine and i changed the mount and put a poly instert in. I can say the yellow poly was about 10% more nvh and they felt about the same. I think the turbo/gt3 mount is stiffer and there r 2 spred apart so they dont need as much help.

i did it this way from advice from turbo owners tnat said its all thats needed.

Well really only 5 weeks as i was away at the beach for a week. Not bragging....

Now i have figure out how to defeat the seat belt tensioner airbag code in the modual. The doner didnt have the belts in it and i assume its an mk2 thing?

only other real code in gettjng is a can bus connectiin code to the jnstrument cluster.

So whats the peanut gallery think... keep the mk1 rear bumper and deal with the long tips or fix, paint the mk2 bumper.

Eventually u will be doing a different exhaust but im not sure if short mk1 tips r interchangable with an mezger exhaust?
