I can assure you that you WILL NOT have oil pressure issues with this engine.
I can assure you that you WILL find it's great on the track.
I'm rather jealous of your new G50 gearbox.

This is awesome and not what I was expecting but probably the best and smartest move you could have made! Looking forward to seeing the process unfold.

Sweet. I did some work on a converted 996 with a Gt3 engine a few years ago (money shifted it) . Pay attention to the pinouts on the X59 1/2 cannon plugs in the engine bay. If my memory serves me right there's a couple of pins in a different location than the base Carrera.
Have fun!

200k on a tracked car ..who says these engines don't last ... an engine / car well deserving of a 4.0 rebuild .

Im gonna cheat. Im swapping the entire harness, motor and chassis to the dash. The mk1 stuff has too many missing wires. Pop in once in a while. I shoud have a fair amount of pics. I hope to make it look factory.

Well i dint think the car was tracked for 200k miles. I got the car at 198k and blew it up at 203k with 8 track days. Im pretty sure the original owner put some love into it to make it last. I got the car with no records so i only have assumptions.

30 day turn around is very ambitious.
Especially if you only work on it in the evenings and weekends.
I'd take a week vacation...or two.

Good luck!
Looking forward to seeing the progress.

I'd definitely be interested in some GT3 interior parts.
Like the carpeted area behind the front seats.

Last time I challenged dj to something he smoked me in a lug nut vs. lug bolt challenge... and the whole world could see it...

Learned my lesson and this time, I’m going with - total confidence in him to get it done as fast as he says he wants to 🙂

the rear seat delete kit is the hottest part of this part out. Im not going to commit anything to anyone until i get the car. Fyi, I think the interior color is grey.

30 day is ambitious but im motivated .

Funny how a GT3 motor under your *** can provide you with just the right motivation to wrench on a car for every possible minute for as long as it takes to fire it up and go WOT to 8K 🤙

Did you ever get rid of your GT3 Cup car engine?

I haven’t chimed in on this thread but two thumbs up on the GT3 swap- it is such a cool idea. I don’t know what a salvage GT costs but considering the costs of a rebuilt M96; I have to imagine it’s somewhat cost competitive. Keep us in the loop on how it goes!
