the auction finished today and you said you arranged a fix today, so I figured you must've bought this.

Plain sheet of 1/2" CDX plywood,, $79.95
2x6x8' Studs $19.76 EACH!!!
Freeking OSP if 70 bucks a sheet.
And this is all withing 50 miles of the plant that makes it..

All the shipping companies in Portland are either in what they call "embargo",, IE they are not allowed to accept a freight order till they empty a certain percentage of their warehouse, or they are not in trouble but a crate that would have cost 500 to get across country even a couple months ago is now $2100. Its UGLY out there..

One local dock manager told me 50% of his space is full of stuff they cant deliver because the businesses are either closed temporarily or permanently.. He said they figure they have about 25 Million in backed up storage fees that they will never collect.. For 1 company.. Its mind boggling.

Seems like we have a bit of economic bifurcation and a whole lotta supply chain disruption.

Do tell!! Happy you found the solution this quickly! Or will there be a grand reveal once all done?

I'd chip in a kidney for that GT3 but I think even then we'd be short. The guy that bought it was super motivated.

All this talk about parts shortages could make the decision on what I am going to do easier to make.

I have been going back and forth between a complete overhaul of the engine in my Coupe or replacing it with the engine out of my Cabriolet. The Coupe is showing signs of either a cracked cylinder or head so needs to be replaced. The Cab has a tainted title due to it being a theft recover and that along with the Tip make it almost worthless to sell. If I wont be able to get parts for a while maybe I will put the Cab engine in, part out the Cab, and start rebuilding the Coupe engine to put in later.

I was thinking about a 3.8 built using Jakes videos would be nice.

i think the parts thing is a short term issue but i like your though process.

i also think anything from a 3.4-3.8 home built reman with good parts would be an excelant choice for a street car.... maybe not for a car that sees the track, even if thats only a few times a year. (like my car)

Aaron will blow up the rotary just by looking at it. Like instantaneous combustion.

Always liked the shape of the Delorean, but the engine is anemic. That Kia swap was an interesting read. Buick swap was another idea for those I hadn’t thought of.
