A quick question if you will. I am installing the EBS Racing's Oil Sump Baffle in my 996 C4. I want to clean some relatively minor debris off the oil pickup screen. It looks removable by removing a wire clamp. Looks like snap ring pliers would allow me to remove the clamp. Is this the accepted way to clean? Thanks.

    Jake,

I am a relatively proud new owner of a 2001 Carrera Cabriolet. I read the posts on the Rennlist forum virtually every day. I recently had an oil ( Liquid Moly 0W40) analysis done by Blackstone. All looked excellent, however, you do not seem to be a fan of Blackstone. What oil analysis do you recommend?

    Thank you for your reply.

Hi there, I wonder if you can help me out. I am in the U.K. and bought my IMS Guardian kit from WrighTune in Oxon. After 6 years of faultless service the wires on my sum plug have finally broken. I have been in touch with Wrightune but they no longer have any parts or kits. how can I purcase both a new sump plug but also an appropriate removal socket for the plug?

    Thanks, Peter.

    Hi Jake,

I just made a down payment on a 2005 Porsche Boxster S. I don't know what type of engine is in it (M96 or M97) but I was looking at either the IMS guard Jr. or the IMS toll kit. Can you please direct me on what to do or where to go? any other advice will fall on very open ears.

    Regards,
    Hussain

    Jake,

How do you put up with dickweeds like this guy?

So where in the OP did it say significant amount of oil or sudden release? Also, where did it say sudden? All the OP said was that he periodically watches and now there's an oil residue when there wasn't previously. As I said, I think you're jumping to conclusions and scaremongering.

All the OP said was "oil residue" - that can mean anything for any of the reasons listed in previous posts. My car is currently in the shop for replacement spark plug tubes and that also resulted in "oil residue" all over the transmission.

The correct path is to determine where, when, and how the oil appeared and the severity - none of that has been established yet. I'm sure you love sounding the IMS horn, but really Jake, not all oil leaks are IMS, you really need to chill a little.

    Regards

Jake, I have been following the progress of this device and our 98 986 is a pefect cadidate for it. 95k Miles original clutch....no leaks runs great....but....you know the drill...this will go a long way to helping me make sound good decisions about it's future maint needs. How can I preorder one for our car?

Thanks again for all you do for these wonderfull machines.
