I mean that's $33,440 to the buyer after fees.

How much more would you have expected someone to pay?

Speaking of prices creeping up: how does $1,666,356.00 for a tuning kit sound?

In other hobbies, auctions get a bad name very quickly if they have a habit of not following through with sales. People talk online, words gets around and nobody trusts the auctions anymore and then they lose bidders and prices drop.

I'd think any reputable auction house would protect it's reputation make sure you follow through with a sale or you lose privileges.
Obligated, yes. Required, no.

Worse that happens is you get blocked from the site and maybe lose a credit card deposit. BUT just dispute the charge and you're probably fine. Create a new account with a different email and credit card and you're back in the game.

BAT, C&B exchange no money between buyer and seller.

This is a myth. You cannot wash out the interior with a hose, there is a lot of wiring under the plastic floor liner and no drain holes.

I have one, it's one of the most useful cars I've ever owned, I've stuffed so many things in there, it can hold 3 sets of tires, 4 if you remove the rear seats, which is pretty easy.

Heard that Porsche Boxster and Cayman are going all electric. This should boost prices for ICE classics like the 996 IMO. 996 especially since there's more headroom there for price appreciation.

Will be interesting when a Boxster goes 0-60 faster than a base Carrera.

Yup - it's been confirmed. I'm looking forward to it as the market does not have a proper electric sports car. Tesla Roadster doesn't count. I think they will but hope that Porsche focuses on driving dynamics and proper ergonomics in this. We don't need to go any faster in 0-60. It's become a marketing term and one trick pony. During a mountain run, how many times does one go 0 - 60? I'll take 4-5sec 0-60 with supreme balance and handling characteristics.

Yep, they are going EV to broaden their base of interest, then will re-release ICE power and hybrid power. Dont forget, Porsche is the greatest marketing machine known to man.

Agreed. Synfuel is a joke, and will never exist in any appreciable quantity. It's probably more cost-efficient to just keep burning conventional fuels and buying carbon credits elsewhere than it is to waste additional energy to do the CO2>meth>gas conversion.

In any industry people get to know each other well in the same way you guys recognize bidders in online auctions.

If an auction house loses it's reputation for sales not following through it loses credibility and that affects final sales prices.

It's in the best interest of ANY public auction house to police their sales or lose credibility.

Fortunately, there's more to life than sheer statistics just as there is more to life than just taking a photograph.

Beautiful sounding and feeling cars are much like art. Technically, a photograph or a technical drawing is more accurate but they're not nearly as moving as a piece of art that moves emotions.

We're losing our souls with the advance of tech stamping out human error and all the other sense that go along with it.

I've only driven one Tesla but I did not like it. It may have been as fast as my Turbo but it wasn't nearly as fun.
