It did indeed start that way. I remember the first time I heard of BaT was because there was a nice Lotus Europa S2 (aka Type 65) project. And then was shocked years later when I saw BaT again and it was now listing high value restored/original cars.

Elements are cool. Plastic fenders, flat floor, interiors designed to be cleaned with a garden hose. The early ones anyway.
That's quite a spec. C&B selling prices in my experience are a fair distance from BaT, downright normal in fact. Of course the market is heated yada yada, but this is one worth watching for sure. The 110K mile part might give some folks pause.

Honda elements are awesome vehicles. I drove my friends on a road trip. To this day it takes the cake as the worst handling and most body-roll that I've ever experienced. I would say it is a re-skinned mini-van but that would be a disservice to the mini-van. The thing felt like it had lead weights in the headliner. Made my mom's Toyota Previa feel like a 911.

I'd still love to own one though.

I would of bought one for hauling the dogs around but the passenger windows do not roll down. Ended up with a Honda Ridgeline instead.

Aren't you obligated to sell if the auction ends with a winning bid?

In other hobbies, auctions get a bad name very quickly if they have a habit of not following through with sales. People talk online, words gets around and nobody trusts the auctions anymore and then they lose bidders and prices drop.

I'd think any reputable auction house would protect it's reputation make sure you follow through with a sale or you lose privileges.

If it meets reserve then the car is sold. No backing out. That's what the reserve is for. Looks like there was only 1 bidder for that car. I think the top comment is correct that current events probably took some eyes off the auctions ending right this moment. It does have 110k miles though...

Worst they can do is lock the bidder's account. Neither the site nor the seller have any recourse, in my experience. I've been on the wrong side of a transaction as a seller, so I hope the seller here gets paid.
