Not a 996, but a near quarter million mile 1996 Ford F-250 PSD with a brake pedal that intermittently sticks down, sitting at $12,000 with three days to go.

It's got a 7.3L Power Stroke diesel which is arguably the best passenger truck engine Ford has ever made, and one of the best passenger truck engines period. They last a stupid long time 500k+ is not rare at all, and they have gotten stupid expensive since Covid, especially the old body style (OBS) trucks, which were made from 94.5-98. Back in late 2019 to early 2020, before I bought my father a new truck and took my 75 highboy back, I was looking at getting a new body style 7.3L and a F250 long bed extended cab 4x4 was around $10 - 13k with about 200k+ miles now that same truck is $20k+

Additionally, that one looks very clean compared to most, especially the paint. Clear coat loves to fly off these things.

I know it's not as desirable but I had a 95 Ranger I bought off some detailing clients of mine for a great deal. They were the only owners, I've never seen more paperwork for a car. The interior was immaculate, with no rust and a 5 speed and 115k miles. I ended up passing it on to another guy I detail for because he was going through a divorce and needed something to commute in. Sure I could have gotten more than I sold it to him for. I saw similar ones with a lot more mileage on them for $3-4k, should have sold it for more.

If C4S' ever get to $100k, there will be a 991 GT3 parked in my garage.

You realize the 991/992 GT’s have the same wet sump motor as the 991 Cabriolet, with dry sump lubrication retrofitted and a few beefed up parts

But 996/997 GT’s have the same dry sump motor as the 962/959/GT1, with a few detuned parts retrofitted

Choose wisely (as if that’s a choice)

Picky bunch on here. I’ve got side skirts on my ‘02. No option listing under the hood except a weird dealer prep designation.
But, much like the much maligned, and now much adored, stupid headlights…I do not care one iota when my right foot is trying to crush the gas pedal like a large bug. Not one bit.

...and the 996.2 Carerra with a M96 engine use the same headlights as the 996 GT3/RS and Turbo providing a glorious presentation on and off the track. 😁

I typically never think about the headlights when I'm inside the car driving, but when am outside of it, I stare at and admire them. Such a great and timeless design.

So true

The only headlights more beautiful than 996.1 are 996.2

And the only headlights with more Porsche racing provenance than 996.2 are 996.1

Win win

Some would even say that timeless, artistic beauty of the headlights on the 996 GT3/GT2/RS/Turbo account for more than 50% of the resale value of car. 😁

Just having a little fun...

If Mat Watson (carwow) is still holding onto his 996 then you know the 996 is a great car. This Mat guy is a wealthy car journalist who drives thousands of sports cars, new and old. Yet, he loves his 996
