Check out the winning bidder on this... Look at the cars he or she has bought this month alone?
Bought it cheap imo

Hah! Yeah, just look at the change in participants over the life of this thread. It was a 996.1 thread for a long time. Many folks are gone because they were looking to sell and did. Bad move imho. Folks should be buying these cars for long-term enjoyment, not selling.

I have always found this thread to be a lot of fun to follow. Opinions and topics vary and as you suggested, don't take it seriously or personally. Just a lot of give and take.

Now back to the thread topic, seems to me that the lack of 996.2 coupes for sale over the past 2 years is now changing. Coupes are coming out of storage and being put on BAT. Looking forward to watching.

I'm keeping mine for long term enjoyment. But also because I hate dealing with the public and trying to sell anything. That and the fact it's known that 996.1 is superior to 996.2.

Hah, no question, it's dogma in the 996.1 channels. 😁

I wonder if this will cause prices to go up. There may be a shortage..........

"Thousands of Porsches, Audis, and Lamborghinis were marooned on an unmanned burning cargo ship in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean Thursday. Crew members of the 650-feet-long Felicity Ace were evacuated from the transport ship to a hotel in the Azores Islands, as the ship was adrift 100 miles away from the Portuguese archipelago, according to the country’s military. None of the 22 sailors were harmed."

"There were 3,965 Volkswagen AG vehicles on board, including 1,100 Porches, according to Bloomberg. Volkswagen’s parent company manufactures its Volkswagen brand, as well as Porsche, Audi, and Lamborghini, Bentley models, all of which were on board, an internal company email seen by the outlet said. "

My brother in law (once removed) ordered a new 911 last autumn, I wonder if his new car is on it.

Wonder if it was an electrical fire caused by the battery of an EV?

Yes, I am stirring the pot. Forgive me. 😇

Apparently the intended final destination was Texas - one of the states with a pending lawsuit against VAG for the emissions scandal.

This is a big thing for me. In the last 15 years, I've been able to buy and sell cars it's jaded me. I think I've kept cars longer simply because I don't want to deal with people. When I was selling my M3 some guy lost his **** because I wouldn't sell it to him for $10k. It was an e46 with 70k miles in decent condition, had the subframe addressed but did need a little TLC, I sold it the next day for 18k. Looking back I regret that knowing where the market is now but I ultimately bought my 911 about a year later.

Same for me, or my kids can do what they want with them. Hopefully, just keep them.

The FD I sold for $27k in 2019 recently traded hands in the high 70s. I'd feel a lot worse if I hadn't picked up the GT3 between those two haha.

You mistake effect for cause

All we can do here is rant and rave about market data points in the past

If you want to see what the future holds for 996 don't read this thread: look at 964- Porsche's former ugly duckling

You can't make this stuff up: BaT can't stop 996 prices, so now they're stacking identical colors on top of each other four-at-a-time to at least depress pricing

Yes they are

996 hate is alive and well

And this is its very last stand
