Would BaT do that to CGT? To 993TT?? To a Dino???

Never in one million years

BaT wouldn't even do that to an E36 318ti

But twist the knife in 996??

Absolutely

Certainly it has absolutely nothing to do with the volume of auctions exploding across all makes and models. If there's a lot of 996s, it's because there's plenty of supply and BaT isn't going to throttle their profits. BaT DGAF what the values of your cars are. Who cares if the closing price is 20% lower if they can list twice as many.

I didn't notice that. That is interesting... Hail damage maybe??? I would think there would be a lot of questions/concerns around that.

If you are surprised at how many cars are listed, then perhaps you should reevaluate your opinion on what is or is not a rare car.

I’ve heard Doug DeMuro talk about how Cars and Bids will stagger the listings of similar cars.
Having a similar car available will obviously brings down the selling price.
Why keep bidding when you can wait for the one closing tomorrow?

I don’t think it’s a conspiracy, BAT just doesn’t care.

+1

This was my experience in selling one of my cars.

Now it looks like it's about pumping out more volume.

This will happen in any market.

This thread is pumping the model. People read these threads and there's a run on the cars because they're afraid they're going to miss out.

Once an auction house realizes something is hot, they're going to get as many as they can to sell, flooding the market. They don't care about value, they only care about selling products.

Prices rise until the product gets too expensive or supply increases too much until prices drop, sellers back off and the cycle starts again.

It's normal, cyclical economics.

I tried to buy one when from the Classifieds I joined here a couple of months ago and the seller (who still has the car for sale in his signature line, BTW), told me the car isn't really for sale right now.

Wonder if they're more interested in selling now.
