I was just offered a changeable Carrera S today at a local AZ dealership, if interested DM me. I’m passing waiting for a Turbo S
Ugh… I am on the other side of the country. My dealer informed me yesterday that one has zero luck of acquiring a 992.1 C2S allocation via their store. “No more .1 allocations per Porsche.”

I can't see how they can start changing the configurators without a formal press release and event for the 992.2
Why would a press release or an event be necessary? It’s not a wholesale body style change; it’s still a 992 with some aesthetic changes. BMW, for example, doesn’t hold events for mid-cycle refreshes (…e.g. facelifted cars).

Ya, why would they make a big deal about changes to their flagship model?
I have a Turbo S AND a GT3RS incoming. They are both fully loaded, msrp of both combined well over $600k. Even so, I still think 991 looks nicer, rides better, sounds better, and is more fun car. I am getting these cars because its impossible to buy a 991 to my liking and meet my standards of no issues given they are old and have multiple owners. But this notion that people hate a new car to make their current car look better is false, at least for me.
I love the way E92 M3 looks. Even today it looks beautiful. I hated F80 and everything that came after it more.
I am not a corvette guy but I think C6 looks a ton better than C7 and C7 looks better than C8.
I like a GT350 much more than the newer mustangs.
I like the 675 LT much more than 720S or 750S or 765LT in terms of appearance and rawness.
So you see, perhaps I am getting old and I live in the past but f3ck that. I hate the newer things usually religiously and this goes for not just cars but computers, or cameras, or clothes, or even hair style. I loved playing battlefield 2 with 64 players and hate this console ****. I used to fly planes in flight sim and I hate the new one and how easy they made. This is like having sex but no foreplay and no romance. Everything is being made more convenient to attract more customers.
I have zero interest in these cars. I have the first GT2RS allocation and thats a hyper car that you dont say no to but thats not a car you drive 10,000 miles a year. I’d have no problem with a Mclaren P1 even though its hybrid because its in a different category of a car. These new 992.2 hybrids are not like those hybrids.

I suspect that they are just beginning the preliminary web work to launch the new configurator when the time comes.
Last Sunday Porsche released the press announcement regarding the Cayenne GTS and then sometime on Monday a placeholder for the configurator arrived on the website.

The vast majority of would be buyers have zero clue that the .2 is even coming. The amount of 992 buyers that are not forums far outweighs those that are. This applies to all makes and models.

Surely you've seen the numerous posts here by potential buyers asking if they should buy the 992.1 or wait for the 992.2. And that's just the people vocalizing their fence-sitting here on RL.
