Surely you've seen the numerous posts here by potential buyers asking if they should buy the 992.1 or wait for the 992.2. And that's just the people vocalizing their fence-sitting here on RL.

Surely you know better. Most buyers of any car make/model are not on forums. We are an exceptionally small percentage of Porsche buyers. You only run into people who are more informed at car meets. In 20-something years of driving BMW’s, for example, never once did I run into another person who had heard of Roadfly, E46Fanatics or Bimmerpost……..and I always asked, especially when I would talk to people while on patrol. I have yet to run into any Porsche driver who has heard of RennList outside of a car meet. Even this guy I pulled over - one of quite a few GT3 drivers I chatted with in the field - didn’t know what RennList was….

Yep and these are the same folks who will argue to death about the options they choose or didn’t choose is the better decision. 18 ways seats that, RAS this, don’t ever buy a 911 without leather because it’s a crime ….

Maybe people should stop seeking the opinions of people who value different things in a vehicle. Maybe then you wouldn’t have to read the ensuing remarks ad nauseam.

I love the way E92 M3 looks. Even today it looks beautiful. I hated F80 and everything that came after it more.

I am not a corvette guy but I think C6 looks a ton better than C7 and C7 looks better than C8.

I like a GT350 much more than the newer mustangs.

I like the 675 LT much more than 720S or 750S or 765LT in terms of appearance and rawness.
Kinda weird but I have to agree with you on that list.

100% This ⬆️. I began over on Roadfly circa 1997/1998 and then moved to Bimmerfest, E46Fanatics, and elsewhere.

Do people really spend $150-$250K on a car without investigating the different versions and when they are updating? I thought consumers today are more informed than ever. There must be hundreds of 992 videos on YouTube and just a simple search will give you the history of Porsche, the different versions and their relative value. re-sale values, and changes upcoming in 2025.

People choose and buy certain cars for all sorts of reasons. One of the reasons some folks buy a Porsche is for it's status value, it's known as an expensive car. I read something once,a long time ago, when Russia was still a locked down communist state, where the author opined that if the Russian Skoda (the absolute bottom dregs of the automotive world) was all of a sudden and magically to became the most expensive car you could buy, it would immediately be one of, if not THE most desired cars in California . . . . . and rapidly from there, the nation.

Why would this announcement in the configurator mean that there wouldn't be any press release?

I am sure they will send out a press release when they publish the 992.2 and at the same time it will become available in the configurator. This is how it always goes with Porsche... They're just now getting the configurator and other web page info ready for the changeover. It's actually nice that they've put out this info about the upcoming launch there since otherwise people would be wondering even more why they can't order 992.1. anymore.

Let's just be patient and all of our questions will be answered shortly...

They don’t need a forum to investigate what’s available. A dealer rep can, and does, do exactly that for them. The internet has been around since the mid-90’s and forums were around then as well. Forums are for car nerds. Most people aren’t car nerds.

Skodas are Czech, not Russian, and ironically enough a part of the same VAG family as Porsche.

FYI, the PCNA configurator is working perfectly fine this morning. At least for me…

Works here too. I'm sure this has been speculated on already but would the 992.2 be revealed at the Frankfurt Auto Show same as 991.2?

https://www.motorauthority.com/news/...e-photos-video

Dates this year are Sept. 17-22. I know they said 992.2 this summer but technically the last day of summer is Sept. 22.

PAG will reveal it long before then. My best guess is that we are going to see it in May/June. I suspect .2 production will run along side the last few .1 cars in August as there are some individuals on RL with dot ones scheduled for production in August. The .2 production will likely ramp-up in September.
