Surely you know better. Most buyers of any car make/model are not on forums. We are an exceptionally small percentage of Porsche buyers. You only run into people who are more informed at car meets. In 20-something years of driving BMW’s, for example, never once did I run into another person who had heard of Roadfly, E46Fanatics or Bimmerpost……..and I always asked, especially when I would talk to people while on patrol. I have yet to run into any Porsche driver who has heard of RennList outside of a car meet. Even this guy I pulled over - one of quite a few GT3 drivers I chatted with in the field - didn’t know what RennList was….
@TUD and @M3Inline6 - I think we are talking past each other. Of course many potential buyers are not RL readers. I was just referring to those who are here and have been unsure about whether to buy now or wait; like I said, there have been many posts reflecting such uncertainty. For this group of potential buyers, perhaps the 992.2 spy shots and leaked info helped them get off the fence. I know it would have for me.

I was one of those buyers...I have a C2S with a TYD date of July 15. It just locked a week ago. For me the reasons for why now were: 1) likely long wait times for .2 2) potentially a large price increase + ADMs 3) mid-cycle refreshes are usually mild anyway 4) some concern about buying the first year of a hybrid engine.
That said, I do like the revised rear of the 992.2 (appears more aggressive)...but could also see preferring the 992.1 as it seems like a 'cleaner' look. I'm sure the .2 will be a bit faster as well. Ultimately 95% of people won't be able to tell the difference between the .1 and .2 but for us Rennlisters the changes will appear monumental lol.

All good points.
Another reason to take a last-minute 992.1 allocation now is that if you change your mind later, you can always trade in and go with the 992.2. But you can't do the reverse. At least not if you want to specify your own build.
So what would you buy at launch? 405-415bhp base or 540bhp hybrid gts?
I am set on the gts for now but I am thinking to wait for the non hybrid base turbo - it will probably be one of the last ones and might be a “sensible” purchase

There is no way I'd buy the new hybrid at launch. Even if I had interest in a GTS, I'd wait and let others be the guinea pigs.

normally i'd agree but we've been seeing the damn hybrid 911 mules on the road for YEARS at this point... not sure i've ever seen a bigger dispersion from "first spy pics" to release date with any model before. They are also already one year off cycle for releasing the refresh so either they've had a full extra year to put miles on these things. They also have been running hybrid powertrains elsewhere at various performance levels.
Guess my point is that I'm fairly confident the 911 hybrid will be a stout platform at release. Doesn't mean I want one yet, but I'd be confident buying that I wasn't taking typical first powertrain year risk.
The hybrid tech that Porsche is going to use in the 911 is not new.
It started with the 918, then transitioned to the Cayenne around 2010, then the Panamera a few years later in 2013, and now the 911.
It's been incubated and baked for at least 15 years now (at least as early as 2010 when the 918 was introduced to the world), and in mass production for at least 10 (with the Panamera and Cayenne).
There is nothing "new" about it.
Trust me, the last thing Porsche will do is use its golden goose (the iconic 911) as a beta tester for any type of new tech. Everything basically trickles down from the Panamera (or Cayenne), just like the interior UX.

Yep…I probably will drive this till 994 in 2028 though.
Remember there are two hybrids - the mild hybrid on the basic trim levels, and the "real" hybrid on the upper trims. The mild hybrids won't amount to much, and I suspect most people are going to switch off the auto start/stop anyway and negate it.

ICE and HEV via 48v and an electric motor mounted into the transmission.
I’m sure the .2 will be exciting and set the standard for the next gen 911’s. I am happy to be getting a manual, ICE 911 this summer. With big changes, it’s exciting to get one of the first new models and just as exciting to get one of the last going out off the line. Can’t wait to have one of both one day!
Actually, I think this .2 will be a transitory model to the 994 with respect to the powertrain - when they will all be real hybrids. It will also be interesting to see if Porsche can take a serious look at some weight reduction in the 994 to compensate.
