I agree about history and heritage but there was a time when enthusiasts bought and maintained old cars and got to drive them without worrying about them as being priceless relics. This was before this recent trend fueled by social media that makes everything a "collectible" and everyone a "collector". My first car in high school, in 1988, was a 1974 911 - bought for $2,300 that I worked on weekends to make it good. Affordable to a high school kid as an every day car. Let me see something like that happen today. There's no reason today why a kid shouldn't be able to get a SC for $10-12k and make it his daily driver. They're just old cars - nothing more. But the social media age changed so many things, among them the car culture. I hardly go to car events anymore. I'd rather just drive my cars rather than be around douche bags talking about their "gated" 911s.
The air-cooled cars are old enough to be seen as vintage and offer a driving experience unlike anything modern, hence the cult status. Social media has certainly inflated that image. But any kind of semi interesting 70s-80s cars are vintage status now and generally priced higher than the actual driving experience delivers. The potentially high school accessible vintage Porsche is a 944 these days, and even those are getting pricey for the good ones.

Car will have a lot more hp, but will also be heavier, still faster. There seem to be attempts to make the 911 more premium, 10% may be rather on the low end.

- The PCM screen in the center console looks wider.
- I see the binnacle for the dash is still there.
- The ring around the rev counter is no longer there.
- The piano gloss trim over the transmission tunnel is still there.
- AND… There’s a manual !!!!
Anything else I’m missing?

No significant change other than the LCD instrument cluster which was expected.

This is a GT3 2.2 prototype given the storage netting on the drivers door. You do know that the PDK shift **** on a GT 992 can very much can resemble the look of a manual? It is very evident that it is in park

Door handle looks like thin carbon fiber. Another thread had what looked like magnesium wheels as well. First for a gt3. I’m guessing there will be a weissach package for the updated gt3.
