Look closely through all the photos. The front and rear bumpers are both temporary mule bumpers and may be camouflage. Note the obvious rivets they made no attempt to hide. Also note the riveted access panel on right rear qtr. panel/fender. But agree front bumper looks better than the one with the vertical slats. More speculation- guesswork would be one is the standard bumper with aero and the other is the sport design bumper for an upcharge.

The front bumper with the horizontal slats is a camouflage add-on. I think its purpose is to hide the vertical slats.

Will the logo be back-lit, or will the individual letters light up themselves? (I think glowing letters will look cool).

Oh man. I so hope neither. That would be tacky.

Lol. They’re definitely hiding something behind that black tape. They’ve really kept it well hidden for a while on all the test mules, so I think it will be a significance.

Could be. Hopefully it's nothing like what Mercedes did to their lit up star. Or at least make it an option if they do something like that. Crossing fingers.

Regarding styling, I’ve always felt that the .1 cars are the more beautiful, purer representation of the designers’ vision, especially with how the bumpers and lights blend harmoniously with the sheet metal.

With rhe .2 cars, it almost feels like a forced change — change for the sake of change — that deviates from the original clean design of the .1 versions.

Think about it, if the .2 styling changes were truly an improvement, wouldn’t the designers have simply implemented those features in the .1 version?

Just noticed the other night that the ID 4 has a backlight VW badge on the back and front...God knows that would be tacky for Porsche to backlight the PORSCHE logo on the 911's a$$

Interesting thought. I always wondered about it as well but thought the opposite. I thought maybe they keep the design open for slight changes and hold back a bit. Or even have the .2 design in mind already and then work it backward a bit. Either way, there are some .1 designs I prefer and some .2.

It would probably be a $1500 option, and people would spec it.

I was worried that Targa is 2-years away, but it looks more advanced than that.

I like more minimalistic rear lights, but the bumpers look like cheap aftermarket kit. Hopefully it’s mule disguise.

Does anyone know with certainty what the appearance of the front and rear bumper design on the 992.2 actually is? All I have seen looks like temporary camouflage.
