992.2 Info
yes I saw a very specific model of the 992.2 and they gave us all the technical information under embargo.
when Porsche shows us this stuff, they take away our phones and security wand us for recording devices.
they want to control how the info is released-
but thematically as you can guess Porsche ALWAYS moves forward and this version is a big jump

Its because the new car is heavier, electrified, will not feel as raw, no analog tach, etc etc. Porsche is giving this "big bump" for a reason. Its not because they are trying to do anyone any favor, its because the car now has to compensate for some areas of weakness (including emotional) so that people can overlook those things once they see big hp figures. Not having analog tach, push start button, the transmission lever on the dash all feel too much BMW/Hyundai on the new 2024 Cayenne (vs the 2022 we own). It will feel the same way in this 911. It actually makes a tremendous difference having a piece of **** laggy digital dial.
If people can tell 100-120 lbs between S/T and some other GT variant, you dont think they can tell 250 lbs between the new Turbo and older one? Why do you think hp bump is big?
And then there is the reliability. If there is one thing I like about Porsches, it has to be that they can be driven for decades if maintained properly. Good luck doing that with hybrid power train. Want to look at earlier hybrid cars and their replacement part costs in other brands? The problem here is (which is contrary from Porsches perspective as its advantageous for them) vast majority of buyers in todays age are stupid from an engineering/technical ability perspective. They dont even know how to hold a screw driver let alone understand internal combustion engine. People get dumber and dumber.

@C.J. Ichiban trust your opinion... without having to reveal details, do you feel the future is bright?
I wonder if the future of Porsche is going to be more and more limited availbility 911s. While Macan, Cayenne, etc become the main focus for generating profit and meeting ever increasing Government emission standards.
So you will see high priced limited edition 911s and getting one will be like getting a high end Ferrari or McLaren.

People just want the newest and greatest. No one wants to buy a used car that someone else didn't want. (all generalizations).
