The 992.1 values will shoot through the roof.

but thematically as you can guess Porsche ALWAYS moves forward and this version is a big jump
can you tell if there is a manual GTS? If you have that information? Thank you

Its because the new car is heavier, electrified, will not feel as raw, no analog tach, etc etc. Porsche is giving this "big bump" for a reason. Its not because they are trying to do anyone any favor, its because the car now has to compensate for some areas of weakness (including emotional) so that people can overlook those things once they see big hp figures. Not having analog tach, push start button, the transmission lever on the dash all feel too much BMW/Hyundai on the new 2024 Cayenne (vs the 2022 we own). It will feel the same way in this 911. It actually makes a tremendous difference having a piece of **** laggy digital dial.

If people can tell 100-120 lbs between S/T and some other GT variant, you dont think they can tell 250 lbs between the new Turbo and older one? Why do you think hp bump is big?

And then there is the reliability. If there is one thing I like about Porsches, it has to be that they can be driven for decades if maintained properly. Good luck doing that with hybrid power train. Want to look at earlier hybrid cars and their replacement part costs in other brands? The problem here is (which is contrary from Porsches perspective as its advantageous for them) vast majority of buyers in todays age are stupid from an engineering/technical ability perspective. They dont even know how to hold a screw driver let alone understand internal combustion engine. People get dumber and dumber.

@C.J. Ichiban trust your opinion... without having to reveal details, do you feel the future is bright?

This is like asking someone from the current government administration if things are going to be okay in the country. He is a dealership principal known by every Porsche employee browsing this forum, do you honestly think he can answer your question with anything but a "yes"?

I wonder if the future of Porsche is going to be more and more limited availbility 911s. While Macan, Cayenne, etc become the main focus for generating profit and meeting ever increasing Government emission standards.

So you will see high priced limited edition 911s and getting one will be like getting a high end Ferrari or McLaren.

My feeling is that everyone will love how it drives, will feel modern and fast out of the line electric but drive great and everyone will want one anyways, except us manual transmission fans.

They always have and always will make too many 911s to be even remotely as limited as Ferrari. The 911 is a mass produced sports car.

It will be highly desired by Porsche's target market.

Trust me on this.

If you do not like the 992.2 911, then you're not the target market anymore.

Which is ok.

Agreed and WELL said. Do not underestimate Porsche Rnd and Marketing. Porsche fanatics swore the 991.2 3RS could never be surpassed and complained the base 992 looked big. Now the 991.2 3RS looks like a VW Gold compared to the 992.1 3RS. A 150k-200k car will ALWAYS require a $150k-200k car maintenance/service no matter how old it is. I spent $$$ on the "tank" mezger found in my 997.1 turbo for engine out coolant lines, camshaft pinning, etc...even if I bought it for a fraction of what it cost new, the service will always cost like its original MSRP.

People just want the newest and greatest. No one wants to buy a used car that someone else didn't want. (all generalizations).

There are different people and different needs. E.g. me who prefers a fully digital display. Similarly with the hybrid - I want to buy a GT car for everyday driving, not for the track. Start-stop for a hybrid works great in everyday driving around the city. Even at the cost of slightly worse track performance.
