A place to discuss all things ADM
#4021
Hey guys, longtime lurker and rookie when it comes to Porsche (BMW M Owner/ track junkie) and looking to upgrade. I am next up in line and they are ready to take my order. 50k ADM. The 911 has always been a childhood fav so it’s a really tough decision.
With current market conditions, is it justifiable to pay 50k ADM? I am located in the Northeast. TIA and appreciate all the insight.
This would be for a GT3.

After owning a 991 GT3 with 18-way seats and a 992 with bucket seats, I can tell you that no buckets would be a non-starter for me. I like PTS, but I can live without it. I'm indifferent to PCCBs. It's an individual decision based on your preference, but if you can't get a "must have" option for your use case, it kind of defeats the purpose of an allocation to me.

I agree that this seems like a fair current rate for an allocation, although it never hurts to negotiate. I also agree with usctrojanGT3 - you should confirm what options are currently blacked out and think hard about whether you want them. While an allocation is ideal, you might be able to find a fair price on a used GT3 with everything you want.

The sofas definitely were a weak point on the 991, but I was wondering if they were improved or not on the 992.

In general, I think that there is a bit of room for negotiating this ADM if you are truly willing to move away from the negotiation table if you don’t get what you want. Otherwise, they have the leverage on you, despite the fact that the market is clearly softening, and will keep doing so for the next 6-12 months IMHO.

If say your car was worth sticker in 6-9 months....would that affect your mood or decision on getting the car? how about 30k under in 2 years?
If you're ready to spend that kind of money and DGAF...then get it. And I did this before so I am not saying it is bad, I fully expected when I got my 991.2 GT3rs ordered new I would drive it for 3-4 years and lose 70-100k (bought it for 25k over with another 20k in CA tax, thought I'd sell it for 25-50k under when I was done) If you are doing it with the expectation of this thing HOLDing values like we saw in the pandemic fiasco that is crashing hard right now, then run and hide and come back in 6 months.
I myself just got my 718 GT4 OTD (7500 over) was like 130 something, I bet I drive it for 3 years and sell it for 80-90. I am cool with spending 40-50k...I love racecars. 992 GT3 I would expect to sell it for 30-50 under sticker in 3 years, so expect to be out 80-100k plus tax if you pay 50k adm. Any expectation above that is wishful thinking and setting yourself up for disappointment. Cars depreciate despite what some people here say.

Thank you very much for your opinions, this is a car I will likely keep forever or until I crash into a barrier at the track 😁.
The ideal would be to get it msrp so I will try and negotiate that. There’s only 1 allocation for the whole year. Most friends in NYC are saying it’ll be a “soft recession” but who really knows.

It’s actually kind of the opposite. My point is that sometimes we think we really want a particular thing (that’s hard to get), not realizing that a different thing (that’s less hard to get) will make us just as happy. So if you can’t get the thing you thought you wanted, explore your options. There’s something to be said for being happy with what you have (or can get within your budget).
For the past two months here, you've done nothing other than rationalize why you'll never own a GT car.
I cant imagine anyone wanting to be anywhere near you at the Rennsport Reunion in Monterey.
You're beyond boring.

Things change, I'd almost plan to keep it 5 years. It is so difficult to plan a forever car and actually do it. HOWEVER, if you were going to keep a car forever, I would suggest 2 things!
1) Order it yourself
2) Do euro delivery
Lastly, there is 1 dealers there in the northeast that only does MSRP deals I know of and almost bought 991.2 gt3rs from them. Porsche Monmouth is an MSRP only dealer AND they value euro deliver but you need to be kinda local, like the 3-4 states that surround NJ.
I told one other person that pinged me in private to do this but.....suggest going there, tell them you'll do euro delivery AND if you have a Porsche to trade in that can help as well to move u up. Best of luck
Don't mind the clowns diablo and ipse (as well as rusman), they are ADM warriors here to fight the good fight for the dealers. I don't think it's going well for them

If I had a dollar for every person that said they were keeping their Porsche forever on RL (I've done it myself lol) I'd have your 50k ADM

as a reminder, you've paid adm on any Porsche GT product you claim to have owned. HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA. Bye now.

Unfortunately no bucket seats or PTS available for the GT3. Looking at euro delivery for October if I go through with it. Any of you guys get any last minute changes before submitting for the build? I’m hoping for bucket seats soon…
Anybody get them installed afterwards? TIA!
