I can see that, but the cars just don't seem worth MSRP + $100k more ADM. The cars are good but not that good.
I think some people are just bored and flush with money, thinking that buying toys will make them happy.
I bought a lot of music gear during the pandemic, but ADM isn't a thing in that world, you just put your order in and wait for it to arrive.
Not worth it to you...but if someone wants to be first, they have the cash and don't care, and they may value time more than money, it's chump change to them.
Why does everyone want to project their valuation on others?
Maybe they have been working so hard all of their lives that they don't know their own kids, they have 3 ex-wives, they have a pace maker, but they have a gazillion dollars and want to have their dream car??
No, I'm not talking about Musk, but people like that...

Not worth it to me, obviously worth it to others, or at least they thought so when they purchased.
Yeah I am not buying anyone actually bought these cars for 50-100k ADM because they thought they were that good and need to drive them before they cant ever again...
They paid that because they believed they hodl all value so "own for free" and sell for same or more.
It was evident in that failed 992 gt touring auction from a week or two ago and very evident in the vibes on RL imo.
People call going against that trolling which is insanity.
me: Your main stream GT cars are going back to sticker
RL: TROLL!!! YOU DONT no how 2 MATH buddy! PTS and PCCB and deviated stitching and touring, everyone will ALWAYS want one of these for CrAZy prices.
Here is another data point (in terms of what some ppl have been paying for those that really 'care'). Quote from seller (de facto intermediary, i.e. not prior owner) who has good rep on BaT so would assume comment was genuine.
Jul 22 at 10:25 PM "Wob (The Seller):@ama74 I can tell you the prior owner paid more, so I would say the new owner was smart to wait and buy."
And this is for a Touring that sold for $87K over (factoring buyer premium), so assuming validity of seller comment I reckon original owner paid in the 6-figure ADM range:
I don’t care at all, except to the extent that it affects the ability to get one of these cars and the market price.
To the extent that I care, why do you care that I care? I’m just some guy on a forum.
I know.
You dont care . . . but you really do care.
You've been repeating yourself over and over again on this thread.
As someone that trades the financial markets, I just think it's funny.
For example, I couldnt care less who paid $135.55 for META today before their earnings came out and the stock tanked to $105.
Someone paid it. They did so before a significant material event. And they were wrong. It happens.
That has ZERO impact on me.

You didn’t answer my question, which is just as valid as yours.
Pretty sure you’ve posted in this thread way more than I have.
If all the high demand cars were sold at msrp than the ability to get an allocation would not be any easier- in fact harder but the allocations would definitely only go to goofballs like myself that buy several cars from Porsche dealers a year. And any new Porsche buyers would never see an allocation of a hot model.
I do stupid things like buy a watch or two and a bike from my Porsche dealer when asked and I buy several cars a year and I trade in at reasonable prices cars I am bored with as well.
And I have never paid a premium over msrp - but I do make the dealer enough profits that they favor my requests.
I just got the dealers first allocation for a T 911 at msrp for example—
so even if all cars were by law sold at msrp buyers with no history with a dealer and that have not helped and the dealer in good times and bad times - will never get an allocation even often with a premium but definitely never at msrp.
One tip/ find out who the sales manager is at your target dealer and try to talk to him or her- buy a watch from him and place your order with him. The sales manager has control of allocations for the dealership even before a regular salesman.
just my two cents and this is my story as a Porsche guy fanatic and I am sticking to it!
Targa32, I suspect that you're far from the typical buyer of these cars with that kind of volume.
Demand for these kinds of cars went a little crazy during the pandemic, while supply went down because of supply chain issues, hence relatively big ADM. We may not see this kind of imbalance again in our lifetimes.
