Now, if only my dealer's price on that Sport Chrono 991.1 of his was reasonable .... But sadly, it's not.
By any chance is your dealer selling that car on consignment or from a non-Porsche dealership vs. from a Porsche dealer inventory?

I doubt it. It had been stored in their warehouse until recently, when it was brought to the showroom. Plus, the dealer never said anything about it being owned by someone other than the dealership - you'd think that would be something a potential buyer might like to know. Besides, consignment apparently didn't get at least my dealer around the stop sale. Some months ago I investigated consigning my car when I was thinking of trading to a 991.2, but at that time my dealer - who was consigning other cars - wouldn't consign mine because of the stop sale. These are all the facts I know, and only with respect to my dealer. What's happening elsewhere I have no idea.

Please get details on what exactly the fix does, and report back.

please do your best to get the details. Having my doubts about transparency and think getting all the info will be like pulling teeth. Thinking even the dealers/techs won’t know everything changed in the software/code. hope i’m wrong.

I am supposed to get my car once the fix has been applied but I have not been given a date yet. Does anyone else have news on their end?

This is my thought as well. I highly doubt that Porsche would flat out tell the service advisors and shop foreman that they're de-tuning these cars as part of the update. Porsche is likely just saying there's a fix, that's all you need to know, now you can sell the cars, and have a nice day. But if any of you do gather some G2, please share.

Regardless, I can't image that the tune significantly reduces power and/or increases fuel economy. If anyone purchasing one of these cars from a dealer is concerned about it, I'm sure there will be aftermarket tunes to reverse the Porsche tune and possibly improve it (from a power standpoint, at least).

Either way, I'm glad to hear they'll be delivering these cars now shortly. I know some of you have been waiting for months or ever close to a year at this point, so enjoy your new (to you) 991's!

All of this "news" has me checking my phone more frequently than normal. I'm hoping to get notified soon that my car is ready for delivery.

I was just thinking about you and was about to message you. Good luck and can't wait to see it in person once you get it!

Yep. Hard to believe, isn't it? I don't think there was ever an official announcement, but if you look back to the first post of this thread on 11/12/20 with someone stating a Porsche dealer was taking their car off of consignment due to the stop sale, it's safe to reason it has been roughly one year since this began.

We'll definitely need to organize a cruise as soon as we get it.
